Posting History (77)

Big East had more Natty’s through the 90’s

Before it was blown up. Sucks that TV has screwed up CFB so much. ** Edited by mwills98 at 12/2/2025, 9:18:29 AM

Believe what you want. That’s how Beamer made a run at it

He hired good coordinators and let them run the show on the field. Beamer got to mess around with special teams and good with the relationship/recruiting stuff. Much like Pry was in rebuilding the recruiting relationships and bringing VA boys back home, holding on too players. Not saying he was a good head coach yet but he may have figured it out with some top notch coordinators, especially guys like Monty with former HC experience.

Tired of hearing this excuse. Yes, more support would have been better but

it still comes down to recruiting, developing and drawing up the Xs and Os. Fu and his staff didn’t do very well when it came to 1 and 2.

When are boosters going to say enough with these guaranteed contracts?

$50-60-70+ million to fire someone for doing a crappy job? I love college football but really hope it implodes on its self and we can get some balanced structure, parity and maintain some traditions. As awful as the NCAA was, at least we had little bit of all three.

??? King completed 80% of his passes…oh you mean our QB. I guess the

Siefkis experiment isn’t working out too well either. ** Edited by mwills98 at 10/11/2025, 9:51:49 PM

I just want to see us get back to watchable football. Even the β€˜92 team

could execute and score points to make a game of it. This poorly coached, poor execution preseason stuff is getting real old.

Great to see the kids put in position for success and make the plays.

Man, Ellis was super pumped. You could just see the emotion he felt for his team. I would have probably gone for the 1’ first down. Odds are you make it, but totally understand not doing that. Our defense had been pretty stout except for a few blown coverages. It just doesn’t take much to get in FG range these days but man did our D bow up last night. ** Edited by mwills98 at 9/28/2025, 7:20:30 AM

Imagine being a student at UVA last night and not being able to attend the

game because you didn’t win the student lottery, even though you already paid for tickets. You just can’t afford to buy season tickets again after paying the school athletic fees already. Welcome to life as a VT student. Whit needs to go if not just for this idiotic policy. Totally, missing the opportunity to build a larger and larger alumni fan base. I am fortunate to be in a position where I could make sizable donations to VT athletics but they will not see a nickel unless this policy is changed. As much as I would like to, to help us regain competitiveness in the ACC, not going to happen.

The fix is on!

That’s about as bad as VT vs MIA ** Edited by mwills98 at 1/1/2025, 4:43:18 PM

We just need to play the ball more and go for blocks!

DBs just try to face screen the WRs these days. We used to be the INT kings and block kicks all the time. We need to get back to that aggressive play. Won us a lot of games. ** Edited by mwills98 at 12/30/2024, 7:07:36 PM

Crooked SEC refs. GA holding all the way down the field.

Then they make up a PI call on GT. ** Edited by mwills98 at 11/29/2024, 10:32:23 PM

2 new coordinators, a former HC as OC…

So he can tell Pry when to use TOs and knows when to pass or run at the end of half.

Where is this Brumfield kid?

I don’t think I have heard his name called in the last three games. Would be nice to have an MLB stuff some runs every now and then.

Uh hum, when I was there from β€˜91-95, every student…

who wanted to go, got a ticket and we packed the East stands. The old foggy, season ticket holders were all on the sleepy West side. Nobody chose to attend VT for football at the time. We lost some games the first few years, but the momentum was building as the wins started to come, the student fans appreciated them and became loyal, rabid fans that help propel the program to the top. If you don’t let the next generation of student fans attend the games, you will not have that kind of fan base year after year to support the program. Shortsighted, instant gratification, money grubbing athletic dept has made it what it is today.

Well first off, you fill up the stadium with all the students that have

already paid for tickets and would love to go to a game. Not just a bunch of fans that have jobs and can donate an extra $100. ** Edited by mwills98 at 10/22/2024, 7:36:24 PM
