Will we have a new HC today or will the Franklin Chronicles continue?
Chesney I think is a great B option
Mullen is as well IMO

When you can buy players with NIL you need a gameday coach not a used car salesman

Franklin brings instant "big boy club" vibes.
Chesney (my 2nd choice) might get us there, but it will be a minimum of a year before that perception starts to form.
We probably have 3 years to position ourselves in the realignment world and really need to start now. Chesney might turn out to have a higher ceiling 2-3 years from now, but that may be too late.
The risk of him failing to make us relevant is much higher than Franklin. That's a risk we need to try and minimize right now.

Would be a lot better than what we have now.

Closed door BoV session 11:45 re: personnel matter
We the public may not hear until afternoon
If it’s signed sealed delivered expect Tuesday presser
The timing makes perfect sense now that we’re not bowl eligible plus there’s a chance for a big official visit weekend vs Miami

From a timing standpoint, if Franklin wants the job it is to everyone’s advantage that he be in place this week before the last home game.
There is no reason why the fine points of a deal could not be worked out by now.
So if Franklin is not announced today, it would very much look like Tech is his fall back option.

I don't think he's going anywhere else coaching at the rate other HCs are being retained though.

High school recruiting is not nearly as important in the NIL era.

do the opposite of what NFL do to build a successful franchise. What I mean is if a school wants to build a "successful franchise" in this era, then they probably should be willing to trade away all their draft picks (assuming there was a college draft) for "proven" players in the portal instead of relying heavily on HS recruiting (aka the college draft). Whereas the successful NFL teams seem to rely more on the NFL Draft (aka HS recruiting) and less on free agency (aka the portal).
