Bought Military Bowl tickets! Who else here is going?
It's a fairly short drive out to Annapolis from my place in NoVA, so it was kind of a no-brainer. Taking my sons (ages 12 and 9) to their first-ever bowl game, so we're excited and hoping for good weather on December 27.
Anyone who's been to the Military Bowl before have any tips on that bowl game? Fun stuff to do with kids? Things to do around Annapolis or the Naval Academy? Tips on traffic/parking?
Go Hokies!! Beat Tulane!

Technically you would be sitting on the VT side if the hill and Memorial Plaza is to your left. But as someone else said, all side will likely be VT sides.

Expect an extremely partisan Hokies crowd to turn this one into Lane Stadium Way North. We're sitting on the Hill (similar setup to Scott Stadium at UVA) which I'm sure will also be largely Hokies fans.

Been to every bowl game that VT played there. Traffic and parking is a true issue. But It's a Bowl Game ! Go and treat it as such and enjoy the moment...

We have spent many weekends at USNA for water polo tournaments and Navy football games. There is really not much special treatment in Annapolis for traffic on game days other than the traffic lights. Go early as 50 will back up a long, long way. For the last Military Bowl, we got parking ahead of time that was a little bit of a walk but not too bad despite the cold rain.
You can walk the USNA campus if you have government ID. If you have a CAC, you can park inside. If not, parking can be rough. The road leading to the main gate has street parking, but it's pretty tight. You can also park along "the wall" (Google it) and further off. We took my parents through the campus a couple years ago when the conference polo tournament was there, and they were very impressed.
Annapolis on the harbor is also very nice with a number of good places to eat though I like Sofie's Crepes as much as the seafood places. Parking is tight down there as well. Give yourself plenty of time.
