He'd be up there on the list of best linebacker to ever play for VT that nobody seems to remember. When he was injured the defense really suffered.
Anchored the defense and racked up impressive numbers:
- 226 total tackles
- 33.5 TFLs
- 16.5 sacks
The latter two on that list are more than Hall or Adibi

Everybody focuses on what he could have been as tight end but seem to forget he was an outstanding QB that lost his weapons and had to carry the team.
Others, Vince Hall maybe overshadowed by Adibi while being a better college LB than Adibi.
Deablo maybe didn't get enough love

Going by him playing with injuries that would have taken almost every other QB off the field. The only thing that comes close was when Frank put MV1 on the field at Miami when he had the leg injury from the endzone flip. Miami knew Mike couldn't move, so that started teeing off on him. Frank put Dave back at QB in the 2nd half. We didn't get it done against Miami that year...they may have won their last NC that season.

Maybe under appreciated is a better word, but I have a much higher appreciation for 80% of Beamer’s players seeing the team the last 1-2 years. We went to the Natty and just didn’t appreciate what was going on at the time as much as looking back now

I thought that he would be Favre's #1 WR for his career. Which would have made him a HOFer. I don't know what happened to him. I fell out of contact with the NFL from 1999 to about 2004.

depending how you define criteria and time frame for being rated. Engleberger is definitely in the discussion on almost all accounts. Kam Chancellor, Andre Davis, Ben Taylor, Duane Brown and a few others can get ther depending on the criteria. A lot of underrated/underappreciated talent during the Beamer era.
