Don’t agree with the OL being the same at all. Lots of new faces added to

the room and talent if the can stay healthy and some of the younger kids continue to develop which I think they will under coach Moore in his 2nd year. No way we are worse at LB unless we sustain a lot of injuries. Just need Noah Chambers especially to not have a sophomore slump and some of the others in the LB room to find their right position and stay there instead of the constant moving around which is one of the few things that concern me about Pry as I’m pretty sure he did that at PSU as well although he had some success doing that. But that’s just what I see and I certainly respect yours and other TSL members opinions as well as we should all be free to do that without being attacked by certain members on TSL. No matter what our opinions are for the upcoming season personally I think it’s going to be an exciting year the likes of what we haven’t seen now for almost 15 years as Franklin and staff changes the culture and mindset of losing football to that of truly being reestablished starting in 2026. Can’t happen fast enough. Whether that means 8-4 or 7-5 in his first year and even at 7-5 if the team shows solid improvement and plays with fire, physicality, mistake free football and just executes without beating themselves and starts finding ways to win ball games instead of ways to lose. To me that’s a step in the right direction of establishing VT football to the days where teams dreaded playing VT not only at home but on their fields as well knowing the physical play they where going to experience playing the Hokies. It’s been awhile. Go Hokies!!!! ** Edited by SCHokie1103 at 7/25/2026, 10:06:57 PM ** Edited by SCHokie1103 at 7/25/2026, 10:09:21 PM ** Edited by SCHokie1103 at 7/25/2026, 10:10:32 PM

Yes but a small note of observation is. FSU is in that group of upper

echelon programs and they haven’t exactly been tearing it up in football the last few years and from what family and friends who are big time Seminole fans and supporters they are not exactly in very good shape financially as a athletic department. Lot of debt I have been told.

Good stuff. I met Bruce Smith one time at a special event and he was very

Kind and gracious to my wife and I like he had known as all his life. He’s a great Hokie and a good man.

And your thoughts on this kid sir which I highly respect your opinion?

Sarah Sarah Sarah my fellow lady Hokie. We will get our LBs just got to

trust Franklin to get it done. The man and his staff are a recruiting machine. It’s going to be all good.

I told you once if I’ve told you twice. Where are the best that’s ever been

And will be. Will never be another Frank Beamer or Michael Vick. Can’t touch this. Dah dah dah dah dah dah dah dah…..can’t touch this hammer time ** Edited by SCHokie1103 at 5/23/2026, 10:37:40 PM

Happy to see any positive talk about our program we can get. It’s never a.

bad thing to get some positive PR and hear our name mentioned on a National platform along with our new coach. ** Edited by SCHokie1103 at 5/23/2026, 3:39:09 AM

Virginia Tech struggles with women’s basketball has nothing to do with

Anything involving Brooks whether he goes to UVA or not. Virginia Tech, success or continued struggles will be on the athletic department and AD to support their coach with the funding necessary to be successful or not. To bring Brooks into that equation is simply comical. I also agree with 2hhoop3 in that Brooks is not all that. Solid recruiter but is not that really impressive as an in game coach and X and Os guy. Always played to many favorites IMPHO at a detriment to the team and team chemistry.

Yeah, you noticed that too, huh? I have posted things I have seen others.

post and mine get deleted saying and responding in a similar fashion. So it’s a little hard to believe there’s not some bias going on. I’ve even questioned why and never got an answer. Like you said carry on. ** Edited by SCHokie1103 at 4/8/2026, 8:30:41 AM ** Edited by SCHokie1103 at 4/8/2026, 8:31:51 AM

Really not the point. Franklin is not about the status quo. He has a fire

and passion to see the spring game not just be well attended. He wants to send a statement to the recruits, fans, and the college football world VT is REESTABLISHED starting now in 2026. I love the passion, fire, and enthusiasm Coach Franklin and coaching staff have brought to the program that has been missing for a century and a half and the physical toughness and fire he is instilling in the players, coaches, and community. The man gets it and he is a mansion and program builder who has done it in the two largest and most successful conferences in college football. Nuff said.

Indeed but I used to bring this up in posts and some would say no, we are

never going to have good physical and tough OL and DL anymore so we need to sign really good Mobile quarterbacks and elusive running backs. lol. Well, you’re getting ready to find out from your new head coach what it means to build a team from the inside out because he understands you have to start in the trenches and his recruiting so far has shown that’s exactly what he intends to do. Watch his Penn State teams. They were always tough and physical on the offensive line and defensive line like most successful college football programs are.

Exactly. I’ve said this before as well and after this past season I’m

really surprised he decided to return and not just hang it up like Bennet did. I like CMY a lot but I just don’t see him being successful in the world of NIL and the portal.

Not that you need me to agree with you or not, but I’m sure you’re right as

That doesn’t seem like Franklin‘s way of doing things, especially when it comes to the roster and how it’s gonna change, depending on how the competition goes for playing time.

WADR the spring game was more entertaining than that bowl game your point

aside. But on that point it’s more about how poorly it was handled from the top down that most fans have a problem with.

So our first ACC series and we have lost 2 out of 3 games so far. Is Duke

really that much better than VT as unless we win tomorrow we get swept in our first ACC series? Love this team but disappointing we lose our first ACC series and maybe get swept.

Congratulations Will to you and you’re staff for providing us passionate

Hokie fans with the inside scoop and information we all Long for about our beloved Virginia Tech Hokie!!! Can’t get enough of it. Glad to see TSL is still here after 30 years. Speaks volumes to the quality, content and staff you have at TSL.. thank you very much and Go Hokies!!!!!

Yes, other than facilitating the Franklin hire I am very disappointed to

See him still here as I had heard he was out the door along with John Balien but yet they are both still here.

I wouldn’t exactly use LSU as your standard. They are in the SEC and when

was the last time they where in the playoffs or NC game. Indiana proved if you get the right players to fit your culture and scheme and locker room. It’s possible for anyone. His team wasn’t filled with 4 and 5 star players and had several key players none of the big boys wanted that came over from JMU. I’m pretty sure Franklin didn’t come to Vt to just be competitive or good. He knows he has the easiest path to a NC going through the ACC.

I wasn’t necessarily on the bandwagon, but his record speaks for itself

so sit back and enjoy the ride miss Sarah. The only complaint I ever saw was he can’t win the big one. Well he is still young enough to learn how to fix that. FRANK Beamer was a great coach and he struggled to beat top 10 teams. He did of course beat Ohio State at Ohio State, which I’ll always remember that one. But he still struggled to be top 10 teams and is now in the HOF. As far as Franklin goes, he struggled to beat Ohio State and Michigan like most of the Big Ten teams did also. Nothing to be ashamed of. I know he didn’t come here just to win the ACC championship. He is smart enough to know that he will have a much easier path to the college football playoffs and winning a national championship ** Edited by SCHokie1103 at 3/4/2026, 1:12:00 PM

Indeed, Chip, instead of all the doubting and worrying about this and that

Just enjoy the team and pull for them and support them. You can’t go through life worrying about what ifs. Go Hokies!!!!

Absolutely Culpepper. Before I was married, I always enjoyed taking one of

my girlfriends to the game who where Hokie fans and then after I met and married my wife who came from a big-time Hokie family it’s an annual tradition for us since we can’t afford the tickets and all the other expenses for the games. We’ve been very blessed through the years to have some really great Hokies on TSL that have given us tickets so we could enjoy actual game experiences but not everyone is as fortunate as we have been. ** Edited by SCHokie1103 at 2/26/2026, 2:54:46 PM

Not really they are both Seminoles and prime is trying to hang on for

his job and under the circumstances, that’s probably the best he could do. No surprise at all.

I really can’t think of any bad movies I ever saw him in. The cool thing

was when his golf cart pulled up next to me, standing waiting on the team to do the walk. When I recognize him and introduced myself to him. He was very gracious and kind and I told him I was a big fan and he chuckled and said name three of his movies to see if I was indeed a good fan and after about 11 or 12 movies I rattled off he laughed and said OK I get it. You’re a big fan. I remember asking him as he was sitting beside his wife what he was doing out of college football game. He told me he liked good quality, college football, and that he thought this would be a very good game and the a professor sitting in front of him with his wife, which I found out later it was a history professor at VT had invited him and his wife to the game. He thanked me for not asking for his autograph, which really never crossed my mind. In the end, these are people just like we are that happened to have a talent or calling in life that puts them in front of millions of people, unlike us normal people ha ha. He treated me like a normal person and acted like ONE and I treated him the same but nonetheless told him I was honored to meet him that’s one of my favorite all-time actors. My favorite movie by him was “ open range “ with Kevin Costner. Watch that movie every time it comes on TV.

Was there also and couldn’t watch the kick so the band was to my left and

I told my fellow Hokie that was with me I would be able to tell whether he made it by the band’s reaction and when they freaked out and started jumping up and down, I knew we had won the game. Then with all of our Virginia Tech stuff on, we like to never made it safely back to our car with multiple threats and things thrown at us. But what a sweet victory.

Miami Vs VT 2003. Got to meet Robert Duvall, saw us beat a really good

Miami team in a night game and watch Kevin Jones plant Sean Taylor on a run and get up and toss the football to him with a stare down as if to say, how did you like that Mr Taylor and welcome to my place.

Indeed it is tragic and having been in this situation and having dealt with

it among family and friends. I am sad to hear the loss of a life when if maybe they had gotten the help they needed many would still be with us. It’s a terrible place to be. I was fortunate and blessed I had help when I needed the most. Not everyone is so fortunate or strong enough to ask for help. Like hate to see it end Hokie just posted. If you see someone struggling and not being themselves care enough to reach out and try to help them in any way you can. It’s a serious problem in America today. It does not get the attention to deserves. ** Edited by SCHokie1103 at 2/24/2026, 7:40:17 PM

Maybe you need to raise your expectations. This team will definitely be.

A lot more talented than the one from last year, especially a quarterback. We actually have a quarterback that can pass the football and I think the offensive line will be improved enough to help in that area along with the change in offensive scheme, including the tight end more in the offense. Good tight ends that can block and catch the football and are utilized properly. Can make a huge difference in the offense.
