If March denotes the end of 'pre-season' here's where I think things stand:
There are four or five truly $elite$ rosters (Texas Tech, Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma). After that there's Nebraska (Jordy Bahl-Frahm) and maybe Florida. Then there are a dozen or so "on any given day" teams. I think VT is in that group. Hosting a regional is very plausible. Winning one is also. Going beyond that will depend on staying healthy and continuing solid work from Mazz, Layton and, perhaps most importantly, Carrico.

I think that is a very valid evaluation
Candidly, this VT team has somewhat surprised me, specifically with Bree's performance. How they rest of the season plays out will no doubt have ups and downs - hopefully more ups. I would love to get (and stay) in the Top 10. In the meantime, I just going to enjoy the ride and encourage every.one else to do the same

Indeed, Chip, instead of all the doubting and worrying about this and that
Just enjoy the team and pull for them and support them. You can’t go through life worrying about what ifs. Go Hokies!!!!

Yep. There was no way to predict Carrico's performance. I saw her . . .
. . . in the Fall and thought "Well, she's a lot different than anyone else on the staff" but I had no idea she'd be this effective. I think the other pleasant surprise has been Abromavage. With only 16 AB's last season it was difficult project the success she's having. Always nice when the surprises are on the upside :)
