Posting History (52)

I think this is 4D chess

by the selection committee. This was done to push them to join a conference, specifically the B10

Tough one

Was Nelson hurt at the end? Was thinking she could help get in to sets better then CW. Would have taken a scorer off but maybe needed better flow down the stretch with her in.

Why should we expect something different

What you are asking for is beyond the people in place now. Could there being some replacements this year? Yes. But in your heart of hearts do you think that the person selected will be empowered to do things differently? I expect more of the same

I see

Maybe your dense. So ill go. My post was saying that we are a squad minus like you said 90% of the scoring (a little high but still) and not alot of additions. Granted the players who remain are a year older and by the nature of more playing time are going to contribute more than they did last year. But still they put up 91 against a not too too bad team. Again just my thoughts. And i will say i hate people who act like comparison isn't part of logic. You compare all the time until you don't like a point of view and then try to invalidate by saying you can't compare. Foh

My big things

Are the number of layups this team gets is striking compared to last year. Movement, cuts, defense - I enjoy that. Second, this is basically the same team from last year without Kitley, King, Amoore and Strack. Does last year's team without those players win a game against a team like this last year? No need to answer. I know a coach may change style of play with the players available to them but still ...

Who cares really.

I don't track every other person's actions to determine what they are. To each their own. People who travel to all games vs those who don't. People who drive maroon trucks vs those who don't. Those who disconnect from following the team at some point during seasons vs those who ride it out. Those who see a path forward with this staff vs those seeing no way forward and analyzing what it would take for a change. Again to each their own

Crazy talk.

For the fact that Al Clark went to Miami and beat the Canes on one leg he is in my Top 5 VT QBs. Lol. That was us going to Miami and beating them with a non-NFL QB when they had Edgerrin in the backfield. TOP 5. LOL

I know the pay says to play Drones but there is

No way that he is better than the back up. Other than his ability to run over some Dbs and LBs in some case, I think the backup has a little more boogie in him ..and a far better arm and feel. Just a tough spot because going in to the season you have to be all in on drones but i can almost guarantee the backup has looked better than him in practice

You can go ahead and post the obligatory

"you never post and when you do it is when things are bad" Bad AD, bad HC, bad OC, bad DC, bad QB and for too long an accepting fanbase with too much "we can't compete because of NIL" while accepting losing to teams without alot of NIL money. Pitiful

Not trying to nitpick

But I dont know who does ratings down there but I think would have Kitchen hire.

Huh?????

I'm not trying to hate but maybe I am. LOL. Other than Amoore, who did he 'develop' to dribble?

Like I always say

people complaining that the NCAA needs to do something, need to have taken their complaints to 1 First St NE.

5 players

For a total of roughly 22 pts. One averaged 15, another averaged 5 and the other 3 negligible. So to me there is no comparison to what's happening at VT.

I'm not calling BS on this

But it sounds off to me. So we have a system coach that seems to lean on experience. But he is going to bring in young or portal players that are gonna jump in to the system and knock a 3rd yr player that far down the chart? Doesn't smell accurate to me...

I guess I agree

With the majority of your post but I dont get the highly rated players are not coachable.

Time for a new coach

Not including this year. Can't all be blamed on portal, nil. Some were stretch recruits. Either way, buck stops with Coach

While I agree that needs to be done

Nothing tells me that ballhandling will improve. You are going to have to recruit that unfortunately.

Let's celebrate them all

Every record has context. I'm sure Pete's record had context when he broke it. Likewise, Liz's ACC record has context. So no need to dig deep, just commend them.

I agree. There may be an outlier out there.

Maybe Iowa, but the more 3s you shoot the less FTs. And Iowa being an outlier in that their main shooter is a bucket getter - 3s, drives, all flavors of points.

This squad isn't

athletic enough. We can do well but we are capped without better athleticism. No one other than Amoore can create their shot...well maybe Wentzel. There is no threat of driving other than Amoore. Pressing teams are going to give us fits as well.

I have a hard time understanding these

Types of messages Are you saying this type of result doesn't warrant posts???

Players have very little to do with your culture.

They are so transient that it is really your coaches and "football building" that dictate culture.

This is going to go a long

Way to the rest of the season. We are giving up waaaay to many rush yards. We have no opportunity to make teams one dimensional. Teams are one dimensional by choice when playing us. If that happens against Marshall....

NCAA has no power in football.

It's an illusion that I don't think they want one of the power schools truly stomping out.

I'm like you. I don't understand the

problem. Technically NIL is being paid by the "public". People saying money is the root of all evil are the same people who would be arguing they should be able to spend their hard earned money any place they want. Why is spending on college athletics different???? Why don't these people call the NIL setup too woke for their likings and try to cancel it? LOL

Question, why didn't you

post this lil diddy under the other posts assumption? LOL

I don't know - are you?

On second thought you probably confirmed it with your other post predicting she will be a "future felon." SMH

I remember our bowl game against

UCLA a few years back. Granted UCLA probably has alumni well entrenched in media, production etc. Watching that game it was so glaring how they (network) were pushing UCLA with well conceived storylines, commercials, programming segments, interviews etc and for VT's commercial there was a horse on a treadmill. I was happy that it was a game that was only seen by alumni of the schools. It's one thing to be folksy but common...we couldn't do more than that????

Agreed we won't get him

but don't believe he is a lifer at Jackson St. He will move when the right opportunity presents itself.
