No clue on any contact...
But VT heavily recruited David Punch coming out of HS before he landed at TCU. He is in the portal now.
Undersized, so Im not sure of the fit with Hansberry, but hes on the same level as Hansberry with better post moves
Im sure teams with bigger budgets will kick the tires, but theres a glimmer of hope the size issues and the previous relationship might help

Also he’s a little bit soft out there on the court. Saw him in person vs Duke and he did not play well. Watched him vs Kansas and he was exceptional, though. Probably just a: Duke has the best defensive bigs in the country issue.
I’d also argue he’s taller out there on the court than Hansberry, but that might just be because of his frame and hair lol.
That would be an intriguing duo at the frontcourt…. Though.
We can also tack punch on the ever growing list of connection tech has to extremely talented players, but we will never land them due to cash.

Doesn’t seem to have athleticism of Lawal (very few do), but seems to have more usable BB skills.

Came on here to post that I saw he was in portal. Watched him a lot prior to TCU. Knows how to play, tough kid, steady, minimal mistake type. Productive, efficient, makes plays and like I said is a tough dude, which we can use. Has a little Jared Dudley to his game with a bit more athleticism

day. Don't think VT fans should be side glancing that "ceiling."

Just because his ceiling is higher than VT standards doesn't mean, say, aTm fans or UMd fans think a Sweet 16 ceiling is acceptable - particularly at his salary.
I don't dislike Buzz. I think he's a good coach. I just think his personnel philosophy is a rate limiting factor for him. Much like Mike Young's inability and/or unwillingness to accept that the sport has changed and you no longer have a couple of months, let alone years, to get a team to gel.

UVA (in this case)and average less than seven points a game? He was on the floor as an alpha defensive player, rebounder, and role player. Pure toughness and a winner. We need some of those types of guys. In our (VT) case, a Jamon Gordon would be nice.
