That will be a big test especially with Lawal out. Everyone else needs to be sharp.

Year and neos this year. Not that I’m saying neo is a number 1 draft pick.
But Flagg started pretty slow offensively and was passing a lot more than taking his shots.
But he asserted himself much more in second half of season.

of a facilitator when the defensive style being used against him requires it - and last night showed, again, what he is capable of if defenses give him space and try to take away other components of our offense.

he seems to be a positive on the floor (both ends ) but his post game stats are counter to what see with my eyes

The one thing he needs to improve upon is knowing when to put his foot on the brake and when to put it on the gas. That's his biggest issue right now. But he'll get better at that as he gets older.

from forcing things a bit. Just like shot-selection impacts FG%, decision-making obviously impacts TO rate. Not saying he is making bad decisions in general, just that some of his increased turn-over rate appears to be due to forcing passes (high risk, highlight-reel reward) when VT has a decent lead. But, hard to complain with his production overall.

Looks good to me- best penetrator, best foul shooter and good assist to TO ratio.
Weak on 3 pt shots but that’s not his job.

Both are an improvement over last year. So no, I don't think so
Hed have to have a pretty long streak of bad A/TO to mitigate the progress hes made already

MtStM 6 ast - 0 TO
VCU 5 ast -4 TO
USC 2 ast - 4 TO
GM 2 ast 3 TO
tonight 1 ast -3 TO
I know that in MY system the point guard doesn't "run" the offense but his Ast totals seem low. I imagine your primary ball handler have 2-3 TO and game is not unexpected.. but the lack of assist seems to be off

Whereas in most standard basketball offenses the PG has a high usage rate (25% and above) in MYs offense he prefers his PG to get the ball out of his hands early and share the passing among 5 offensive players.
This year is obviously different when you have a 6'9 lottery pick as a PG, but even still you can see the goal is to get the ball put of his hands early (it just finds its way back to him much more often.
With that said, if you look at the numbers historically under MY, Hammond's APG would be 5th most of any VT player under MY, and 3rd among PGs behind Avdalas and Pedulla
Couple that with the added context of the usage rate of Pedulla and Avdalas is higher than Hammond then hes pretty darn efficient.
Here are the usage rates for Pedulla, Avdalas and Hammond
Pedulla (year 1) - 23.2% (1.3 apg)
Pedulla (year 2) - 24 1% (3.8 apg)
Pedulla (year 3) - 30.1% (4.6 apg)
Avdalas - 23.7% (4.8 apg)
Hammond (year 1) - 18.7% (2.1 apg)
Hammond (year 2) - 20.6% (3.5 apg)
Hammond's usage is pretty pedestrian among PGs, even by MY standards, but he is still getting more assists for his usage rate than any non-Avdalas PG VT has had under MY

board that Pedulla was horrible and was not even a D1 PG. Reminder, A Hokie's favorite entree is PG1 or QB1. We are the finest young cannibals.

is really being asked to do. I haven't checked the numbers, but his assists going down likely coincides with the uptick in assists for Hansberry, plus he gives way to Avdalas a bit in that regard. Even if he brings the ball up the court, it's going to Advalas early in the action.
