Man, he really is good. He captures all of the impt parts of the game
including the bacon. Very talented, enjoy his video, interview spots, and his summary. Love it.

the complete story and keeps it very concise only taking up 3 minutes. Three different player interviews along with Mike Young, highlights and even included video showing the Hokie fans storming the court that I hadn't seen mentioned. Great job!

It might be interesting to see a segment on the lighter side of the job with footage of the up close action where bodies are flying at the camera.

I haven't spoken with Gio about it yet, but it looks like he got stuck pretty far back, like behind the big donor tables. (You can see fans in front of the camera, which isn't usually an issue if you're right on the baseline.

Far back at that point. He was about as close as you can get to the baseline and the basket

He did a great job of editing the film and interviews into a cogent story.

I’d say that segment is equal or close to what many local sports casters produce. My one suggestion would be to keep his natural talking pattern the whole time. He was at his best at the very beginning and end when it was more natural. The middle segments you could hear him being more scripted.
I know, nobody likes a critic and I should shut my whiskey hole. He is just really advanced and doesn’t need much to go from good to great.
On a related note, DC is very similar on his written reporting in terms of being very advanced and polished. Both dudes have a solid future in this business.

is accurate, maybe even a bit understated. You could probably sell those clips to news outlets as an additional source of TSL revenue because he is far better already than many of their on air personalities. The young man appears to have a very bright future. The TSL student talent is a walking billboard for the SMA program.

IMO, Gio can do recaps as well as local TV professionals can.
