There were threads about Ryan Odom coming back to VT until Mike Young was officially announced as the head coach later that day. Not sure why you are claiming this whole story is "simply not true" when there is much more evidence showing that it is.

National and local media members including at the Washington Post and WDBJ-7 were calling Ryan Odom as the new VT head coach before Mike Young was eventually announced. I have no idea on which one of them asked for the most money, but I didn't see a big upgrade in Dorn and he's a big with back issues which doesn't inspire confidence going forward. Pat improved every year and knew Mike Young's system which is very important especially as a big. I was one of those in Pat's camp last year and didn't want to see him leave. The school had already invested 2-3 years into his development and he was a hard worker, and his best years were going to be his final two. at the top and we're not Boston College at the bottom. But, where do we exactly fit in with our budget in the ACC? I don't think anyone can definitively tell you and, without that, it's really hard to completely evaluate our coaches, players, etc. And, we have no idea what next year is going to be. This year was supposed to be our year with a number of donors stepping up after last year's debacle of NIL investment and dearth of talent. However, the money improved, everyone could see the talent was much better, but we were the 10th seed in 2025 in the ACC Tournament with a much worse squad and were 12th this year. The ACC teams as a whole reinvested in basketball as you can tell by the records and by the number of teams expected to make the tournament, but VT still had a worse finish. I would strongly argue that Mike Young, and I bet he would say the same, did a better job coaching last year than he did this year. Last year's team had no business sniffing a top 10 seed. I don't know if Mike & staff could have squeezed another win out of last year's team. Not so for this year's team. There's a number of wins that were left on the table. And, this year's team, regardless of injuries, had enough talent to lock up an NCAA Tournament bid before the ACC Tournament. Yet, here we are. More money spent, better talent and still not going to the NCAA Tournament or making any noise in the ACC Tournament. What do you do next year? Try to find even more money and try to give Mike Young more cash to find players and have another shot of finding trying to find pieces across the country (and world) to fit a team of unknowns into a cohesive unit while still having no real idea how much $$ it's going to take to be competitive next year in the ACC? Not saying softball isn't worthy, they are, and they do have the biggest fanbase, but Hokies Women's Soccer was in the Elite Eight last year (best year of any VT sport men or women) and has made it to the College Cup (Final Four) in 2013. Women's Track has finished as high as 6th in 2022 for indoor and as high as 5th in outdoor in 2010. I heard about this yesterday and thought they must be leaving their Red Sox affiliation, no just wanted a new mascot and team name. Then they pick something that doesn't represent the area or the city so strange. I guess their hoping their new merchandise will fly off the shelves. We have a vehicle that has been determined to be a total loss. The other driver is 100% at fault (our vehicle was parked in it's parking spot). Yesterday we received the valuation from the insurance company and we think it's low. Our vehicle was Honda Certified and still had 4 years left on the policy. Should this be taken into account when determining the valuation of the vehicle? I would think so since Honda Certified is transferrable to the new owner and we would have receive a premium if we sold our vehicle the day before the accident. Given the record cold, I imagine there's going to be quite a few folks who can't afford in what some cases is in extra house/rental payment this month. Wonder how many get disconnected and if there are any plans in place either from the electric company and or local governments to help what I imagine will be a record number of individuals? I know there are some assistance programs, but I think they'll be put to the test. I keep seeing so many on Facebook community groups who are pissed off at the electric company for raising their rates without realizing no rates were increased, it was just dang cold and heating in that weather especially with a heat pump is very expensive.

We have multiple savings accounts with Capital One and had to close each one and then reopen each one with a new account to get the better savings rates. After chatting online and on the phone, Capital One definitely didn't want to make it easy for their customers to switch to the higher savings rates. It was a pain, but I think I caught it fairly early. I look forward to my $8-$16 after the settlement.

Our situation was similar except we were sitting in the designated "Kids Club" section next to students who took all the seats. Many families with little children left due to the problems getting to their seats and also the hour long+ line for food. Luckily we stayed and most of the students left at halftime so we had a ton of room for the last two quarters. But, it's made my 8 year old not want to go to any more Hokie football games.

wife just had a photo that was removed due to community violations. It was a picture of a train that we took while on a family hike. The video of the same train is still up and apparently is fine. She filed to appeal as well, but from my experience when I've appealed in the past, you will get no response. A lot of Facebook monitoring is all automation done by AI and other automated processes with no human intervention. My mom had her Facebook account stolen about a year ago (she fell victim to a very common Facebook hack) and when I tried to report that her account had been taken over, Facebook reviewed and sent a canned response that the account was fine and blocked me from accessing her stolen account any more (so she lost a bunch of family photos) and the hacker had already started asking for money in my mom's name to her friends and Facebook still thought it was fine. It's unreal. I looked into it some more and found thousands of people including rather large small businesses have had their Facebook accounts and pages taken over and no one could get Facebook to lift a finger. There have been a few success stories that I found who contacted the California Attorney General since Facebook is headquartered there or there own state attorney general, but not everyone has had the same luck. If you search reddit for Facebook hack or account suspension you can find hundreds if not thousands of people reporting issues. I linked a post below about someone getting their suspension lifted and the steps they used to do it. Don't think it's an exact replica of your issue, but may help. And, the colleges are the ones who accepted the students to begin with. So if a student graduates and takes out loans to pay the school, then the college is also on the hook to pay back the student loans since they are partly responsible. There have been studies to show that ivermectin was effective against Covid and there are studies that show it had no effect. Which ones are right? I don't know perhaps both because the studies differed in dosage, how many times you take the drug per day and duration in how long you take it. But, if you remember back to good old 2020 & 2021, if you even mentioned the word ivermectin or any other possible treatments you were banned from YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Doctors were chastised for even trying and mentioning new treatments. And, the mainstream media followed suit. A national dialogue was simply not allowed. And, why shouldn't they follow protocol in what was a novel pandemic that of course by definition had no known treatments. Meanwhile families whose loved ones were on their last breaths suffering from Covid were relegated to being put on ventilators in hospitals with apparently no interest in possible treatments. They were offered to have a priest read their last rites, but heaven forbid they try a drug that could possible help. Some families turned to the courts where they had to fight for days and in some cases weeks (precious time they didn't have) while hospitals fought any treatments that weren't protocol. And, some as you said, turned to purchase the over-the-counter version of ivermectin found at Tractor Supply and other farm stores. The kicker, there were a number of families that won their court cases were allowed to administer drugs and their loved ones recovered even after given almost no chance of survival. And, what would it have hurt to offer those on their dying breaths a chance to take ivermectin or any other drug for that matter? I mean it's not like the drug had been safely administered to millions of people across the world prior. And, it wasn't like it was randomly picked out of a hat by doctors trying to find potential treatment for their sick patients. Prior to Covid, it had shown success as an antiviral so doctors theorized that it might have potential in treatment. Of the two cases that I know that died of COVID that were young (between 35-50), both individuals went to the doctor early and asked for treatment and said they were struggling. Their doctors and hospitals turned them away and said there was nothing they could do. Both returned a few days later in even worse shape and were put on ventilators before passing away. Both were friennds of a friend of a friend and I told those who were closer they should have them reach out to doctors who were actually trying to treat Covid with a variety of medicines (Ivermectin included). Unfortunately no one did and they passed away. If that was your wife, brother or sister, I'm sure you wish they would have at least tried something. But, instead let's laugh and chastise a drug that showed some signs of being able to help especially when most of the medical community was too afraid to rock the boat. And, if you made it thus far, look up the name Judith Smentkiewicz. She was an 80 old year old Buffalo woman who was given a 20% chance to live after suffering in the hospital. I've linked the article below from the Buffalo News, but it's a paid article. Here's some snippets from the January 15, 2021 article: A judge ordered Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital last week to give a Covid-19 patient an experimental treatment, and her family and attorneys say they believe that saved 80-year-old Judith Smentkiewicz's life. The drug Ivermectin – a pill sometimes used to treat children with head lice or to rid dogs and cats of worms – is not yet approved by the federal government for use against Covid-19. But Smentkiewicz's son and daughter call it “a miracle drug” in their court papers. So do her attorneys, Ralph C. Lorigo and Jon F. Minear. “This lady was on a ventilator, literally on her deathbed, before she was given this drug,” Lorigo told The Buffalo News about Smentkiewicz, a Cheektowaga resident. “As far as we’re concerned, the judge’s order saved this woman’s life.”.... “We did a lot of our own research, we read about Ivermectin ... The results sounded very promising, and we decided we had to try something different,” Michael Smentkiewicz said. “We pressured the doctor in the ICU to give it to her. He finally agreed.” On Jan. 2, Smentkiewicz was given her first dose of Ivermectin, and according to court papers filed by her family, she made “a complete turnaround.” “In less than 48 hours, my mother was taken off the ventilator, transferred out of the Intensive Care Unit, sitting up on her own and communicating,” Kulbacki said in a court affidavit. But after her mother was transferred to another hospital wing away from the ICU, doctors in that unit refused to give her any more doses of the drug, and her condition quickly declined, the family said in court papers. “We were astounded when they refused to give her any more doses,” Michael Smentkiewicz said. “That’s why I called Ralph Lorigo and we took the hospital to court.” This is when I first heard about ivermectin and was intrigued as I think everyone should have been again given the fact that we were in a global pandemic. I've read a few articles and watched portions of the documentary "Thrown to the Wind" that show some significant evidence in offshore wind farms not being healthy for whales and adding too much noise in the ocean.
