Given the record cold, I imagine there's going to be quite a few folks who can't afford in what some cases is in extra house/rental payment this month. Wonder how many get disconnected and if there are any plans in place either from the electric company and or local governments to help what I imagine will be a record number of individuals? I know there are some assistance programs, but I think they'll be put to the test. I keep seeing so many on Facebook community groups who are pissed off at the electric company for raising their rates without realizing no rates were increased, it was just dang cold and heating in that weather especially with a heat pump is very expensive.
