I heard about this yesterday and thought they must be leaving their Red Sox affiliation, no just wanted a new mascot and team name. Then they pick something that doesn't represent the area or the city so strange. I guess their hoping their new merchandise will fly off the shelves. I wasn't a huge fan of the Pulaski River Turtles, but at least Pulaski has turtles throughout the town. Can't remember the last time I saw a wild yak in Salem, Southwest Virginia or the continental United States.
