It's FIFA and the US pricing model for events
Most other countries have restrictions on reselling at this point.
The best example of this is how it was cheaper for people to fly to Europe and see a Taylor Swift concert than it was to get a ticket to see her in their hometown.

Good. The price gouging is insane for this tournament
Over $200 for the cheapest ticket to see Cape Verde v Saudi Arabia in Houston is nuts. I wouldn't pay $200 a pop to see a VT home playoff game, much less two countries I care nothing about play a soccer match.

Doesn't matter if you can't sell the seats. VT doesn't sell 66,000 seats
they rarely sell 45,000 seats. Between students, the Corp and corporate donors, Tech doesn't come close to selling the amount of tickets people think.

Only thing I've ever gotten in 21 years was that I was able to be in the
pool this past year and to make sure I check my mail in case I do get summoned to potentially serve on Jury Duty.
