OK, maybe the coolest?
OK, it was the fastest in the 60s...likewise, ridden on the Shinkansen from Aomori prefecture to Tokyo and the Tokaido line from Tokyo to Kyoto and back. That was a while back though, the 80's version of the Shinkansen that looked more like a jet plane nose.
I think I've been on the TGV but can't really place it. It was fairly new at the time.

But seriously, I love that song. It mentions Danville, the area I'm from. It mentions White Oak Mountain, and the sun went down over White Oak Mountain where I grew up, and it was a great view every night. And it mentioned Spencer, NC, which is where my mom grew up.

from Aix en Provence (likely Marseille). They seemed almost dumbfounded that the trip was only around 3 hours. It probably took them longer to fly, after getting to airport, and into the city, etc.
