Not so sure....
We went the same route with Malinowski in '22. Guy was absolute fire out of the gate but fell off precipitously in ACC play. Went 0 for 4 with 4 K's in a one run loss in game one against Oklahoma in the supers while hitting in front of superfrosh DeMartini. Gotta produce. Just the bottom line

I use the Fireboard Labs system on my Egg
Really is amazing. I still take my time dialing in the temp with the vents before turning on the fan….but long gone are the days of having to get up during the night to make tiny adjustments. Have done a 14 hour cook without ever having to touch a thing….aside from wrapping in foil or butcher,s paper around the stall

I don't know man....
The scene where Rocky keeps saying "come on........come on" and Clubber emits this guttural throaty growl while showing his entire mouth piece.....and then starts throwing massive punches was great. Thought Mr. T really looked the part.....foot work not terrible. Threw legit punches. I liked Rocky III a lot

Know this kid well....
He is an absolute unit! Looks like he could step off the baseball field and straight into the WWE wrestling wring. Weight room WARRIOR........legit baseball lineage. Uncle is a hall of famer at UVa baseball. All State performer at Jefferson Forest just outside of Lynchburg. Can flat out run and swing it. Kid can just play. Offseason workout partners with Christian Martin...
Kid is a great addition with TREMENDOUS skill and baseball IQ

Sadly, he's correct here. We have a lot of guys that can run it up to a reasonable velo.....and can hit an impressive spin rate....
But my goodness, when we miss, we miss badly......like right down broadway...
I've watched the staffs at Wake and Duke and UNC to name a few just nibble on the outside or under the hands until they figure out the umpire zone and they stay there..... We need to somehow change our approach on how we prepare for the mound...
I posed a question to some of my baseball friends before this tourney started......"How many runs will we have to score combined in the Duke and NC State games to win them both?"
I predicted 20 runs total........well, that would have won last night's game by 1 run.
We scored 8 and 9 runs respectively.
That offensive production should win games

That's a MINISCULE sample size
He's a kid, in the bigs......allow him some time for adjustment. Spoke with a guy that was alongside him in his brief minor league stent - said he's the best hitter he's ever seen....
He will be ok. The pressure is immense. He has probably NEVER had to deal with failure at the plate and at his age, letting this get in your head is difficult not to do.

Cut throat sport...
"Over recruiting" definitely occurs. This sport is not for the faint of heart. The 2021 class (high school graduating year) had 17 commits the summer before they arrived. There are 4 kids remaining from that class. This is not a phenomenon that is unique to Virginia Tech. The extra covid years and the portal have further complicated the playing field for freshmen.... So, to your question....YES, kids are cut at the end of the fall..... Hell, we cut a kid this year a week before the season began.

Sign of teams that aren't very good in case we all missed it.....come back to win game one.....battle back from 6-0 to barely lose game two 7-6, battle from behind to win game three.....bums I tell ya!

Thinking preseason was that winning the first 7 series was an absolute must....

UNC-C win, Rhode Island sweep, Stony Brook win, Notre Dame sweep, Louisville win, BC sweep
Pitt remains.... it's baseball so even though Pitt looks down, gotta win it on the field....
A sweep vs Pitt would be hellaciously delightful......would put us at 11-1 in the ACC as we move into and absolute gauntlet of brutality.....
That said, this team is the closest anyone around the program has seen in a LONG time....
They believe in themselves and they are there for each other....

FWIW, I didn't like going after the first pitch. Fussed when I saw it. That said, he told me why he was attacking fastball early. Made complete sense... Got the pitch he wanted. Timing was a little off. Knows he needs to execute better there.

Completely disagree with your perception...
Bases juiced, guy hits a chopper to 3rd. RUNNERS ARE MOVING on the ground ball. It's a chopper.....wasn't just smoked right to him. DeMartini is an elite 3rd baseman. He has phenomenal footwork. He knows how to attack baseballs and when to sit back. He had no choice but to attack the baseball. In that process, his momentum took him well into the grass of the infield. There was a near Zero percent chance of him fielding that ball, hitting the breaks, and then somehow getting back to the baserunner who was nearly to third. No way. He made the right play going to first. Was going to be bang bang so he had to rush it. The throw was errant and Michel did what all first basemen are taught to do and tried to swipe the tag. That play happens in baseball quite often. The result yesterday in unfortunate - it really sucks.....but to say you can't forgive a kid (again, he made the right play) is a little wacky.
