Do kids get cut from Fall roster to spring?
Or do they just leave? I noticed a few kids who signed out of 2023 who are not on the current roster. Luke Proehl is one who I thought was a really good recruit.

"Over recruiting" definitely occurs. This sport is not for the faint of heart. The 2021 class (high school graduating year) had 17 commits the summer before they arrived. There are 4 kids remaining from that class. This is not a phenomenon that is unique to Virginia Tech. The extra covid years and the portal have further complicated the playing field for freshmen.... So, to your question....YES, kids are cut at the end of the fall..... Hell, we cut a kid this year a week before the season began.

Let alone the fact
that there are very few scholarships to go around the full roster.
