About how horrible the team is, how horrible the officiating is, how horrible the coach is, and it is all babcocks fault. ** Edited by Virtual Hokie at 6/15/2026, 3:59:04 AM

That Stanford Team was really good

They only lost one game that year, to the eventual national title runner up Ducks of Oregon. Pretty sure they wanted to let everyone know that they were that good and VT was just on the receiving end. Oh if we only had playoffs back then...

Do you really believe that? They were facing significant sanctions

after Joe pa and Sandusky scandel. O'brian jumped ship after two years. Franklin came in and it did take him three years to get to 11-3 but recruiting and portal wasnt the same. I think he turns it around quicker with today's environment.

I'm with you...

Could argue he went to the BOV and said, I failed because I couldn't hire anyone, put the money into the program and we'll do it right. They stepped up and now we have Franklin. Overall I'm happy with the Hokie product being put on the field/court across multiple sports. Looks like mens basketball now has money to give us a pretty good team. Womens basketball took a hit when a once in a lifetime player graduated and head coach bailed with all the players but new coach is showing promise and getting players. Wresting in top 10 in the country with my home town (Johnstown PA) sending the best to be a Hokie! Softball is a well oiled machine at this point with players/coaches just need to get Chip some funding! :) Just wish/hope we can turn the baseball program around. Not to mention good showing by soccer/swimming/track&field. Heck, even volleyball has won a match this year! Long way from the Lisa Pikalek days while I was there.

Yeah... I'm going to be that guy.

When Franklin wins, and wins, and wins some more... how quickly can we expect offers to start coming in for him to be lured away for even MORE money? Along the lines of Buzz and basketball, we welcomed him here to turn us around and have a winning program. He did it... now we expect the same result with Franklin. Looking forward to the ride and hope he loves it in Blacksburg and has enough money! :)

One thing I have noticed...

When the guys have the ball near the rim... it goes through in a rather expeditious manner.

Total 13 players on the roster this year

Let me know when you go through the roster from last year and this year and count the number of non hispanic based names that are also missing.

Nope

Other than that population loving football more than american football :) If you do some digging you will find a lot of smoke/fire of issues in galax over the past two years.

Yeah.... That's why they had to Forfeit games last year as well.

They went from Winning the State two years ago to having to forfeit games by the end of the season last year. They lost every game in 24-25 and by end of the season didn't have enough players for one of their last games and had to FF. Then they started this season off getting destroyed by Glenvar 70-0 and if I remember reading correctly a bunch of players were hurt. So had to FF the next game. Came back and played Carroll County and lost 71-0... then FF the next game. At this point doesn't sound like they have many players healthy. So was it ICE that ran everyone off back in 24-25 when they didn't have enough players then?!?! Same thing with Auburn High School just outside of Christiansburg. They cancelled their entire season last year and are back competing this year. ICE has nothing to do with it.

The runner saw the ball

At this moment in time, the catcher is receiving the ball. Yes, he does lose it but at that moment does the runner decide to slide or run through the catcher?

NCAA Baseball Rule 8-7 - collision rule.

Here is the rule at least based on umpire bible... It didn't look to me that an attempt was made to avoid collision. He isn't forced to slide, but could have attempted to go around or slide to avoid direct contact. Any attempt to avoid the collision and he's safe due to obstruction. 1. The runner must make an actual attempt to reach the base (plate). Penalty: If the runner attempts to dislodge the ball or initiates an avoidable collision, the runner shall be declared out, even if the fielder loses possession of the ball. The ball is dead and all other base runners shall return to the last base touched at the time of the collision. 2. The runner may not attempt to dislodge the ball from the fielder. Contact above the waist shall be judged by the umpire as an attempt by the runner to dislodge the ball. Penalty: If the contact is flagrant or malicious before the runner touches the plate, the runner shall be declared out and also ejected from the contest. The ball is immediately dead and all other base runners shall return to the last base touched at the time of the collision 3. The runner must attempt to avoid a collision if he can reach the base without colliding. Penalty: If the contact is flagrant or malicious after the runner touches the base (plate), the runner is safe, but is ejected from the contest. The ball is immediately dead and all other base runners shall return to the last base touched at the time of the interference. If this occurs at any base other than home, the offending team may replace the runner. If the contact occurs after a preceding runner touches home plate, the preceding runner is safe. The ball is immediately dead and all other base runners shall return to the last base touched at the time of the contact. 4. If the runner's path to the base is blocked and (1), (2) and (3) are fulfilled, it is considered unavoidable contact.

No attempt to slide and trucking the catcher will get you ejected.

If the runner had attempted a slide they would have been safe due to obstruction.

Yeah, that Stanford Football Team is killing it!

There is no argument that Stanford has the best athletic program in the country. Did the fact they are so good in everything else, keep the athletic director employed until this year? Football record over the last 7years. 2024: 3-9 2023: 3-9 2022: 3-9 2021: 3-9 2020: 4-2 2019: 4-8 2018: 9-4

Give it a rest.

Honestly don't visit the boards much anymore because of constant crap posting.

Not possible..

Haven't you been reading how horrible we are?

10-4. Dashboard would light but nothing from starter

Apparently just bumped the shifter (older hyundai Santa fe) just enough that it wasn't recognizing it was in park.

The Lounge 1 y ago

wasn't fully in Park

Had this happen before. Gear said it was in park but apparently it was just off enough that it wasn't "really" in park.

Coverage is just bad

The stations they have are pretty bad. Station listed for Danville can't be heard in Danville.

He was fully vested in 2020 after 3 years

His third year was in 2020 and this is his 8th year on active roster. Just needs to stay on the active roster for three or more games to get credit for his 8th season.

I tried to warn ya...

But if I remember correctly was told it was just me. Not only no room for knees but the actual depth of the seat is extremely uncomfortable on the hamstrings.

Worst thing for me is tackling

Lowering the head and whiffing. Shoulder bumps instead of wrapping up. No discipline on option, too concerned with stripping ball instead of getting ball carrier on the ground.

Maybe we can't throw downfield

Have to think at this point coaches know we can't protect long enough to throw anything down field???

No the actual seating area is a few inches narrower than bleacher

If someone is sitting in seat in front of you and leans back they do recline about 4 inches into the row behind. In my test this would require placing knees on either side of seat in front. This of course means your legs are now in the space of the people to either side.

Just have to say... Good Luck

Good Luck if you have to sit in one of these for a game and are not 5' 3" Horrible.

Correct me if wrong... Only 11.7 Scholarships for the team

And those 11.7 are split up among 27 players with minimum of 25%. This increases to 32 athletes on scholarship and roster limit of 40 spots next season. So I'm just assuming that most baseball players are not on full rides and getting a free eduction.

Let alone the fact

that there are very few scholarships to go around the full roster.

Docking station or...

Assuming you have USBC out, docking station will give you multiple HDMI out's from there. I also run a J5 Create USB to HDMI get a 4th screen (counting the laptop screen as well) all working as one extended screen.

Per this article VHSL says yes

Back in July of 2023. "rules" from the article: A high school athlete will forfeit his or her amateur status, according to VHSL rules, by capitalizing on athletic fame by receiving compensation, endorsement or gifts by using the intellectual property of the VHSL or a member school. Intellectual property includes a school, district or region name, uniforms, mascots or logos. High school athletes can’t reference their school, team, district, region or VHSL while participating in NIL activities. They also can’t endorse or promote goods or services during team activities or events. ** Edited by Virtual Hokie at 3/29/2024, 4:44:50 PM

Also... her balls are smaller. Just Sayin

Not meant in any other way than the fact her ball is smaller and should make scoring easier.
