We need a "Danny White, AD (Univ of TN)" who elevates the entire Ath Dept
operation. The guy LEADS and has all major sports cookin' in Knoxville and has been for IIRC 4-5 years now.
Whit is not it and hasn't been for a long time. A Franklin version in AD form would be a major upgrade.

If Franklin brings this success to VT, we will DOMINATE the ACC and not
only in football. It will translate into a VT juggernaut for our other sports. Totally elevates everything. Get ready. We might just finally join Big Boy sports again! Sorry, maybe not revenue, but this post by @QCP last week showing Big XII
surpassing ACC in SRS ratings shows what a garbage conference we're now anchored to. Again, IMO, the Big XII has a much better conference leader than Phillips in the ACC. 7 straight years the ACC finished below the Big XII. That's baaaaaaaddddd juju.

Would it be safe to say or maybe IMO the ACC
appears to be headed the way of the Big East. It will eventually become a basketball only conference. The heavy hitters for football will find new homes in P2 or maybe an expanded B12 which is starting to surpass ACC in revenue, relevance anyway or VT drops down to G5 in football.
If we would just get our **** together, especially in football, VT should be in the ACC Championship circa 2016 every year vs Clemson. THAT'S what ACC Football should look like every dang year, VT and Clemson duking it out for supremacy! Would be so nice if the two major land grant universities, Clemson and VT would unite together and start driving this long dominated Tobacco Road conference.

Yup, it's the headscratcher for me. Pry was known as a very good to
excellent D Coord and LB coach. LB coaching was his schtick on coaching clinics and circuits. It's the mystery or one of the mysteries of his time at VT.

Here's a good statistical analysis of Pry's D at Penn State. Ups, downs,
and inconsistency on the O side as they had 4 or 5 different O coordinators during his time at PSU. He was the glue trying to hold it together similar to Bud quite honestly.

I remember watching a OSU v PSU game a year or two before Pry was hired. Pry's D had the Bucknuts stymied in the first half. Herbstreit was lauding Pry and the D, gushing over him! Problem was Franklin had no Offense and a terrible O Coord. Buckeyes pulled away in the 2nd half and wasted the Defensive effort. Â Sound familiar??

Her TikTok video game is All American skill as well. She can be both reserved and ....extroverted when necessary I would say. MAYBE she continues to rehab and strengthen her knee and game, but IMO I'm not so sure she is cut out to be in the WNBA. Yes, crazy statement and not because of skill for sure. I'm not sure she has the sheer toughness and physical game the WNBA requires; I only started watching it because of her and DAMN there are some BRUTES just mean ass wimminz banging around in that league! Liz has so many other gifts and talents which this new gig may just bring out for the better.

IMHO, Wrestling and Softball are the 2 closest teams to winning a Natty.
VT the university should be showering them with love and support! Ifnit weren't for Robie and @VTChip they'd get less than scraps. Makes ZERO sense. None.

I have 10 pounds to go. 205 trying to get down to 195! I haven't been 195
or even in that range since I retired from the Army in 2013! At my worst about 3 years ago about when my wife dropped the divorce bomb, I was 275. I was a mess. Finally woke the hell up. Still battling and grinding daily! Great job, EDGEMAN!!

I would love Cassell being turned into something like Ohio State did for
Wrestling, Volleyball, and other non-rev sports and build a new arena for MBB. I don't know what VT Wrestling facilities look like either, but I don't think they rival Buckeyes, Michigan or Penn State. I just think Man, what VT and Coach Robie could do with a SERTC on THIS level! Maybe one day...

Believe it or not, I've heard lower level athletes are getting paid too.
Definitely not at the rate P4 and P2 are, but DII and III are getting money too. @VTScoop had a great post on this where the masses are ill informed if they think dropping down levels saves money or makes sense or whatever. There is too much at stake in both money to be made, marketing, and prestige for the university to NOT stay at the highest level. We fans have been kicking this can down the road since circa 2012 if not 2005 and it's time to pony up. You want to see the best on Saturdays, want more wins in all sports not just football? Then stop complaining and donate, buy tix, and support the endeavor. I include myself in this statement as well. If not, get off the bus. It's that simple.

Fu ended up with 16 VA/footprint players in 2021 and Pry only has 15 in
2025!! Fu was crucified over TX recruiting and turns out he had ONE, 1 TX player in 2021 and Pry has FIVE, 5 TX players in 2025! Babs EFFED Fu and this entire football program.

Season tix holder since 1995. I went to Vandy, left early. No way in hell I was driving back down on I-81 for 2-2.5 hours to see that hot mess. Watched it on tv and was so thankful my brother and I didn't go. I'm going this weekend for Wofford, but only because I'm going to the VTCC reunion and all us alumni will probably be marching on the field pre-game. Wofford MIGHT be our only chance at winning this year. wow.

What's changed if anything? He looked lazy last year and got burned at VT
Was it a coaching problem? Disinterested? Playing on a bad team or bad D and not meshing with Cheetah his position coach impacted on field performance? I know this, it sure does SUCK seeing previous VT players EXCELLING in the SEC, winning SEC Player of Week (Delane and Moore (week 1 OL Player of Week) while VT football sucks donkey balls.
