I honestly thought Charles Huff was a serious possibility when we hired BP
And maybe he was. Has Va ties and did pretty well at Marshall. Now at So Miss and they just handled App State.
At least he has plenty of actual coaching experience.

We've got an unfunded, unrealistic (at least at this point) and unconvinced BOV (still waiting on the BOV "response" to the Babcock smoke and mirrors presentation). None of that bodes well for recruiting Huff or anyone other than another second tier P5 or junior P2 coach to Blacksburg.

Worked as chief recruiter for Saban, Worked a Penn State a Vanderbuilt. He's very driven and organized. At marshall he got into it with the AD, who wouldnt give him the money he needed. (sound familiar). So he left Marshall to a program that respects and resources, took Marhsall's players. and BOOM. Southern Miss back to be a competitive G5 program. Hmmmm...

Pry and his coordinators were uniquely unqualified (probably explains why he had several coaches leave after year 1) so it accelerated the timeline for failure but Pry was willing to kiss John Ballienâs @$$ so he got the job. I feel bad for Monty and Seifkis as they are victims of circumstance. Those of yâall bâing and mâing about the coordinators right now are blaming matches for arson.
In retrospect on the Pry era, I knew I was underwhelmed by the hire at the time but now I know why.
