until this season, he hasn't been able to break into the starting lineup at Bishop McCort at his natural weight due to the level of talent on that roster over the past couple of seasons. two years ago he made the state tournament at 172 when his natural class should have been 145ish. Last year you had Jax Forrest (133), Sam Herring (139), Bo Bassett (145), Devon Magro (152) and Melvin Miller (160) Jayden O'Farril (172). There simply was no place for him to go in that lineup.
The short answer is he's had some recent success at Fargo which shows he has some talent. He knows how to work hard and is willing to put in the sweat equity needed to be successful. there is a reason he was being recruited by some big name schools

Based on his body of work, he may be as important for SERTC as a freestyle training partner for lower weights as he will be as a contributor to the room and contender down the road.
