Prepared to get hosed if D1 softball is correct
At LSU…who we can beat BUT FIRST if we get SE LA…they’re 46-14 won at LSU last year and took them to the brink, beat Oregon this year AND of course will have home crowd advantages. That’d be the crowing jewel hose job for a truly top 12 level VT team having to play probably the best regional 3 seed in the tournament
Of course we’re more than capable of getting that chip on our shoulder and winning it

have to beat them. And THEY have to beat us. I am sure other teams have their version of Hokiepro fans who have already doomed their team to failure. You should form a social media group.
I am not going to prepare to get hosed. And neither is our team. Thank goodness. Come on HP!!!!! Do you wear anything special when you prepare to get hosed? Rain coat?

Ask most Hokie fans who are over 50 if they’ve ever NOT been when it’s been close?
Best seeding ever really was the Sweet 16 men’s team…even then as a 4 seed we had to face #1 Duke from same conference in Sweet 16.
Baseball and Softball won regular season titles and they earned the right to not be hosed and weren’t. Other than that…yeah we’re used to it .
Having a tough draw doesn’t mean we won’t or can’t win. Just means I anticipate not getting what we deserve which (according to the ACTUAL DECENT metrics like DSR and KPI) is a top 16 host spot

metric that is the most accurate. They are all making some judgments with respect to what
to include and how much to weight them.
The litmus test for a metric is not how it ranks VT.
If we have multiple metrics that each have some merit, I would support doing some kind of average like we used to do with the BCS ratings in football.

Seems like we got homered even if we couldn't meet the hosting criteria. Should have been seeded 16th and going to 17th LSU.

Borderline 2 seed. If they were named anything other than SE LA they’d be a 2

Their last RPI was 37 with a strength of schedule of #107. They only played four games against the top 25 RPI schools although they did beat Oregon in February. They are a solid 3 seed - SB America has them going to Texas A&M.

Style of play is very hard on a defense
Also pet peeve not against you but I’d encourage you when speaking to anyone wrt RPI AND SoS to not speak of them separately
SoS is already factored into RPI…that’s exactly why our RPI is lower than performance and predictive metrics of DSR and KPI. When two teams are side by side in RPI, don’t also compare their SoS; it’s already built in

"The Rating Percentage Index (RPI) is a comprehensive formula used to rank teams, while Strength of Schedule (SOS) is a single component within that formula measuring schedule difficulty."
"RPI combines a team's winning percentage (25%), opponent winning percentage (50%), and opponents' opponents' winning percentage (25%)."
"SOS only measures how hard the opponents are."
"RPI Formula: 25% Team Win % + 50% Opponents' Win % + 25% Opponents' Opponents' Win %."
"SOS Formula: 2/3 Opponents' Win % + 1/3 Opponents' Opponents' Win %."
Thay are different things - just ignore my numbers if you disagree
