Stadium Woods shot down their original plans.
I think they were put in a bind once Stadium Woods shut down their plans and they didn't take the time to think things through about expanding the North End Zone.

North End Zone is 137 feet wide currently and South End Zone is 190
Need 50 feet somewhere and the only way is to cut into practice field some with the road requirement. It doesn't seem worth it right now.

Couldn't we have reserved rooms in Salem or Radford?
The Hampton Inn Salem and Avid Hotel are both nice enough hotels in Salem and just under the 30 mile distance that is required. Seems like the Athletic Department dropped the ball on this one by not doing something far enough in advance to hold the 90 required rooms. Maybe we could also have got 30 rooms at the Highlander in Radford. I bet if they cut us a decent enough price on 90 rooms then we could have released them all on Sunday evening if we were not hosting and graduation travelers would have gobbled them up at the price we reserved them at.
Start one Game at 2:30 and one at 6:00 PM and it wouldn't be too bad around the current planned graduations in Cassell, start the games when the graduations end and traffic would be okay. Graduations are 12:30 - 2:00 and 4:00 - 6:00 on Friday. Same exact plan on Saturday, start when graduations are ending, 2 and 6 pm.

The average is 14.67 of the 3 metrics they are using.
Seems like we got homered even if we couldn't meet the hosting criteria. Should have been seeded 16th and going to 17th LSU.

It sounds like the budget will be the same then and not decreasing?
If it stays the same I wonder if other ACC schools are going to increase, stay the same or reduce their NIL budgets? That will likely dictact how good of a team we have where we could be competitive though it will be tough to make the dance.

The issue is mid majors are down.
With NIL and the transfer portal it is hurting the mid majors and these average ACC teams are on the bubble.

We will not jump them in the NET but our resume is currently better in my opinion, other than the actual NET ranking, so I think we could jump them if we can beat the Hoos.

How the heck is Indiana in right now?
I agree we don't quite meet the eye test, especially end of game situations but the bubble is weak. Why is Indiana above us? I guess the higher NET is the reason but it doesn't seem quite right. If we can beat UVA, I think we can jump them and others. Would have been nice to have SMU or Miami right now. Auburn is in the same boat but beat more teams though has more losses.

I don't think 2-1 does it.
I think 3-3 with those 3 wins puts us on the bubble as we would be 3-10 in Quad 1 and .500 in conference. I think 4 is the clincher or 3 and maybe some tourney wins. I feel like we now have a chance, odds went up significantly after last night. Every game is huge from here on out.

We definitely need to get the students down lower.
Could we move the cheerleaders to the other side and extend the Cassell Guard down closer to the court somehow? It could be it's own stand alone Cassell Guard section.
Also, at the same time, couldn't we wrap them around the corners down low a bit more? Maybe put in some sort of break so people sitting above can see over them when they are standing?

Were you there at the game?
Did you witness many adults booing? I did not hear one in a large section I was in but did hear the students just wasn't sure what they were so fired up about. It seemed like some of it might have been directed at a ref or Duke player but possibly could have been Neo when he got subbed out. It was just weird that the student section in the lower left exploded all at once just as Neo was getting subbed out but the ball, ref and Duke players were all in that corner. Maybe a student can chime in that they were booing Neo.

The main boos came from the students when he got subbed after the miss
It was weird and I think the boos might have been directed at the one ref. There was definitely not widespread boos, zero in my section, it was a group in Cassell Guard near the corner that booed very loud. Someone needs to ask them if they were booing at Neo or the zebras. Couple of big missed calls there that sealed our fate a long with missing all those 3s.

We won 4 of 6
I know the games were crazy but if the SMU half court doesn't fall we would have won 5 of 6 which is probably close to the odds there. It isn't just us, look at all of the other crazy games, we just happen to have more than most others because we are not inbounding the ball well and giving up layups, both seem very correctable to me.

Was at Merceds-Benz Stadium this summer for Club World Cup...
Saw Messi and Inter Miami play PSG and was amazed at the price of food and beers as well as the quality of both compared with VT. The prices were good, service fast, bars to look over the field, etc. It cost me $15 for a beer at Cassell the other day, would be cheaper to buy a 2nd ticket and walk to my tailgate spot and drink one. Maybe the pricing changes in Atlanta for different games, no idea or others have had different experiences than I.

I answered my own question, Indiana gets to choose as the #1 seed.

I understand they are set but did the Fiesta get to pick before the Peach?
Assuming 1, 2, 3 and 4 would have all won. Then it would have been Indiana and Texas Tech in the Peach Bowl and Georgia and Ohio State in the Fiesta. It seems like maybe the Fiesta got to choose first and took 2 v 3? Also interesting is that Oregon could go to Miami twice in a month! That's a pretty good drive there.

Definitely one on Thursday night. one Friday night, 4 on Saturday. Maybe a 14 team playoff with 2 byes? Could play a fifth on Saturday or 2 on Thursday and or Friday and then one on Monday night up against MNF if no byes.

He has a right to be super upset.
Probably should have gone about it a different way. That has to be either on the floor or no foul, was never touched when he took the shot. I don't understand how they reviewed that and gave him a 4 point play. Just call it on the floor if you have to call a foul as you blew the whistle.

I think we are definitely off the bubble here.
We have a really solid team and no doubt could compete in the tourney well but the ACC is just too darn deep and we didn't get enough wins.

One issue that would need to be worked out is what happens if VT fires him?
What if we fire him before 6 years is up? How does the buyout work from VT and Penn State? That has to be cleared up.
Also, a start date has to be figured out at the same time to VT's contract so PSU knows when they need to stop paying him.
Lastly, I guess there is a possibility that Franklin wants cash now from PSU in order to go away to maximize his income. Maybe he is telling them I will take $10 million today and this mess is over.

This is a bit complicated....it lists broadcasting but also says...
The contract also states that Franklin must "make good faith efforts to obtain the maximum reasonable salary" at his next job.
If he chooses broadcasting and gets the maximum reasonable salary then PSU pays big time.
If he chooses coaching and gets the maximum reasonable salary than PSU pays zero.
Interesting wording, both sides might like where they stand on this one.

I am curious how all of his buyout works when he gets hired and paid a lot by us. Maybe Penn State was gambling on the buyout and figured he would get hired somewhere so that $50 million will be way less.

Probably need 2 more wins to be on the bubble.
Sitting right off the bubble at RPI of 43. Typically top 40 RPI puts you on the bubble and might need up to 35 depending.

I am not sure if this is a good idea but it happens every year. Season tickets are really cheap but limited and they "sell-out". It is good for the locals that will attend and support the team and know to buy them earlier than later and most will buy something from the concessions.
