Taylor Pannell is being absolutely roasted in Tennessee
Her interview after Tennessee's final game at the College World Series is making the rounds and it's not pretty. During the interview, she said "I adore everything about being a Lady Vol, everything it stands for, the community, the place it's at. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else." I guess she forgot to add - unless someone write me a big check. OUCH. It looks like even the staff may be joining in.

These are 20-year-olds with the opportunity to bank more money in one . .
. . . year than they might in any year for the rest of their lives. We have no idea if Pannell had received the offer from TT at the point she made that statement. The bigger picture is the Tennessee program has for years chewed up and spit out players. Particularly when Ralph was still there it was to the point where the freshman year was pretty much a probationary appointment.

So are the players who left VT in the past, chewed up and spit out?
Obviously I’m biased, but many of the players who have left weren’t playing. Were some mistreated, sure but who hasn’t been yelled at by a coach? Heck I was thrown off the bus once because I was on time and not early.

There are many reasons to leave a program. The history I refer to . .
. . . at Tennessee is players being 'asked to leave' after the freshman year when the fail to meet expectations on the field.

You guys are harsh, I like my job and my paycheck ....
but if a headhunter came my way and said we want you to do the same job for 3 times the money, what are you going to say?

Well I wouldn’t have publically pledged my loyalty to my current job1st

That was before the offer, right? but ....
I guess the public declaration might have been a bit much.

Offer was supposedly back in April in the middle of the season

There are no limits to the amount of money, why should there be limits on
contacting a player. At this point in this world the only problem I would have is a player leaving one team for another IN-SEASON. It's all about the money from administration to the player, for everything and everybody in between, in many cases the only loyalty is the loyalty to yourself.

How about a ball player on a diamond batting in the top and bottom of
the same inning?

Thanks goodness this is still important and high priority in our household.
Seems like loyalty is becoming rare in sports.
