The word is out on her. Especially since she’s so good. Every coach will be pointing it out to the umps.

there is no doubt that a good percentage of the pitchers leave the ground but what I see is she has more elevation than the others. I think that is why she is getting called but I will admit, that is not what others believe (could be the O&M glasses being worn by others but who knows).

So, it seems, in your mind, more elevation means more egregious. I think you are making it simpler than it it is.
By the book, Arkansas' pitcher was illegal on every pitch last night. Clemson's pitcher was illegal on every pitch last night. It was not mentioned once on the telecast because it was not called once. Yet, we have to hear how Lemley is illegal on every pitch as if she is the only one.

but who knows. There is a reason she is getting called and I believe that is it but it is all wild speculation at this point.

the rule. For example, is Lemley, who is being called for IPs, getting more of an advantage than a pitcher who covers more horizontal distance on her leap and is not getting called for IPs (rhetorical question)?

Tony, Tone, Toni..... Where to begin....
Are we discussing elevation or pitching rules as a whole? If elevation, watch Jordy Bahl from Oklahoma. Tell me what you think and then do a deep dive on how many illegal pitches each has had called. Pitching rules as a whole? Watch any screwball pitcher such as Sandercock from FSU. Their lead foot almost always lands outside the pitching lane but yet no calls for that. Seems to me that provides just as much advantage as leaping by adding increased spin on the ball. The issue is selective enforcement. AND I use selective rather than inconsistent because I think umpires are picking when and where and against whom they enforce it. Just makes the application of the rule seem kinda sketchy and agenda driven. Of course, as Hokies, we seem to get the short end of the stick once again.
All that aside, Go Hokies! Swamp People is a great show. Love what they do to them gators...

seems to confirm my wildly thought out speculation. I don't believe in conspiracies so there would have to be a reason she is getting called and the others are not, correct? The reality is that I will stick to my assumption that she is worse than the others, that is until somebody gives me a better reason or theory. wow, we have been beating this dead horse for a good month know. It sure has legs. VT wins this weekend!!!!

As Pete says; they’re punishing her athleticism. If others aren’t being called, she shouldn’t be either just because she’s more explosive and gets off the ground more

illegally pitching on to the league office. (Or whoever supervises umpires) Start making it a point that everyone does it. And it needs to be called on everyone. Or change the rule.
We certainly do it in football. After every game. Why not softball? Minimal staff maybe?
