Even if you don't think in terms of Cori batting 2nd behind Lynch, the bigger issue is that she is hitting behind two batters hitting below .240 and even further back in the season, Blackwell, Martin, and Rohs were basically near outs. So there are two key situations right there in the Villanova game (loss by 1) and UVA game where the weakness of the lineup in front of Coril led to her come up with 2 outs, no one one and she got a hit of some kind. That could have contributed to 2 wins (instead of losses) that hurt the RPI, KPI, etc. You never know what could happen. Yes, you could engage in whatifs and different outcomes all day long, but... The point still remains the same. - In 35 games, she had 19 RBIs that were her scoring someone else. - She had two hitters in front of her that have finished the regular season below .240 with a 3rd falling to the below .260 - As good as she has been, there is still an opportunity IMO Another way to look at: she has the near the same number of RBIs as Peck. Compare the two: McMillan - 70 hits, 10 2bs and 29 HRs -----> 59 RBI Peck - 53 hits, 8 2bs, and 14 HRs -----> 53 RBI So 17 more hits, DOUBLE the number of HRs and only 6 more RBI?
