and @VAHokie89 for putting more context and stats to my point above. At lead off she clearly maximizes the number of times she comes to the plate. However, what is not clear is how that impacts her offensive opportunities if teams can pitch around her with open bases or whether if positioned slightly deeper in the order she might protect other teammates and be protected herself with baserunners ahead of her. Like I said, I think it is an interesting debate. I would love to see more productivity from the bottom of the order to give her more baserunners to potentially drive in. However, with results to date I would not necessarily want to make a change and risk upsetting the rhythm and approach Cori has going, although I believe of all the VT players she is probably the most capable of adjusting and adapting her routine.
