It does not even have to be a HR. Even hitting a single with Lynch at 2nd (given her doubles) gives you an extra RBI. Look at all of her hits, not just HRs. Against Villanova, McMillan HRed in the 3rd innning after after Martin struck out swinging and Rohs popped up. We lost by 1 run. Lymch was 2-for-3. Scored 2 runs Against UVA, McMillan was 1 for 5. In the 4th inning, she singled with 2-out after Blackwell struck out swinging and Rohs struck out. VT was up 2-1 at the time. Against Pitt, she was 1-for-5 with that one hit being a HR as the first batter in the inning. So assuming she does not get any hits if someone is on base in front of her in the ABs (one was a fielder's choice with Rohs on), then fine. Against Pitt, in the 3rd inning, she flied out to make the 3rd out. Martin and Rohs did not get on base. While I won't count this, I would bet she gets pitched to differently if people are on base. Against FSU, she was 4-for-4... Lynch was 0-fer. The other 4 hits came from people down in the lineup.. So likely if performances repeat. ** Edited by VAHokie89 at 5/6/2025, 8:14:30 AM
