Would ND agree to at least that concession?

If they can't stay at the Px level right now, then it will be almost impossible to ever get back up there. So they appear to be all in to do what it takes to stay. And I respect that. At this point I just don't care what happens anymore. I'm fine if the ACC adds them and fine if we don't. Fine with football only or with full membership. Just wrap it up and stop leaving them hanging.

Even if they join the ACC and aren’t paid anything, they are still not worth the headaches. The whole thing reeks of desperation by all parties. I can’t see any of the magnificent 7 schools wanting them to join. Take the stupid vote and be done with it. If the ACC wants to vote on something important, then vote on changing the bylaws to give voting rights only to full members. Why let ND have a say in any conference matter going forward after their shenanigans this week.

They play in empty stadiums and arenas. They have already been rejected by the B1G and the Big 12, and I still seriously doubt that enough ACC schools want Calford in the conference. This all seems like a really bad joke. I wouldn’t even be surprised to see the MWC reject Calford after the ACC does.

That’s why Notre Dame has such an historic rivalry with them. If they want to join the ACC so bad that they’ll do it on the cheap, I’m 100% all-in. Stanford and Cal are historic programs, let’s help them build those brands back up the next few years. Win-Win. VT BABY!!!

I dunno. I think they are slightly above the average ACC program in total value. Oregon and Washington would have been better. If they strengthen the stability of the league for the next 7 years and increase payouts a bit, while increasing the academic prestige, seems like a win to me.

Simply condition. 1) ND those five games per year are set, NO Changes and the ACC will select (already who they are) ACC will not approve any reapportion of schedule. and they can schedule Stanford independently (which they do) or as a ACC member wait until the next round in 2038. Keep it transactional

Just thought it was interesting

I still see a 24 school B1G with four 6-team divisions. Adding Stanford (SanFran) and Arizona St (newly AAU/Phoenix) really makes a ton of sense to get that Pacific division done right. Stanford has billions in athletic endowment. Suffering through a few seasons of having to replace the Pac12’s former payout of around $30-$35M at the added expense of several million more in travel fees isn’t that big of a deal. Stanford’s goal is to remain competitive with all sports until the B1G calls. Some schools spend $200M on new stadiums or sports centers. Stanford will spend $200M on funding their athletic viability over the next few years. The Mag7’s goal is being able to get out when it’s time to get out. Guess what, Stanford is also. Cal isn’t, so that could have been the hang up for UNC/NCST. The Mag7 gets an 8th member. (Don’t think UNC’s president isn’t getting Stanford’s president on board with the Mag7 before it votes them in.) And the ACC schools will all add a few million to their coffers for the next few years. FSU will fight it because it won’t be what they asked for but the rest of the league won’t care. They drove a harpoon through the P12's heart by taking the LA schools, then came back and took the other two they wanted at a huge discount. The B12 grabbed the southern schools. The remaining four schools are the ones that no P4 conference wants. Geographically speaking, it's insane to even talk about adding those schools to the ACC. No P4 conference is really close to those schools, but we are the furthest away. It makes even less sense to add them to the Atlantic Coast Conference.
