I figure if many good current PAC programs are in the B12, and the SEC and B1G take 6 ACC schools and leave us behind, we will likely be headed to the B12. But all this is premature at this time.

It wouldn't be the end of the world, as long as Pitt and Louisville come with. It sets up a fun Appalachian-Ohio River pod with WV and Cincinnati. Frankly, I'd rather see this group of 5 (pun intended) in the ACC, B1G, or SEC, but it will be what it will.

FSU or the BigXll. The BigXII mouthpieces are hanging around like vultures ready to pounce on any perceived negative news coming from the Pac-12. It's a bit gross. And FSU just thinks it's entitled to leave the ACC a decade before the end of its contract, just because they are FSU. They are about two decades behind understanding the complexities of conference realignment. They just think they deserve better and should therefore have it. I watched this FSU dude on youtube that says his "sources" tell him the SEC wants FSU and that ESPN is going to allow FSU to go to the SEC in the next 3-5 years just so the B1G/FOX don't get them. I won't even bother linking the video, but I did leave a response in the comments section. Here is what I said: "A few things you are missing. 1. Neither the SEC nor the B1G want any precedent where ANY GOR is broken. 2. All this about the SEC not wanting the B1G to have FSU might be true, but it doesn't make it urgent. This is more of a 2033-ish, not a 2023-ish, problem. This isn't about ESPN "allowing" this to happen. it's about the schools in the ACC with likely nowhere to go allowing this to happen. Unless ESPN finds 8 slots in the SEC for current ACC schools, no one is going anywhere. ESPN isn't going to open the door for Fox/B1G to come in 10 years before the GOR expires to swoop in on UNC and others. prevalent all over the web, and it is foolishness. But ESPN need not be an innocent bystander if FSU gets crazy ideas. They will act in their own best interest, always. The FSU podcast that Maroon Baboon saw suggests that if FSU and/or others move to The B1G, then ESPN loses-out. But ESPN can simply buy a content package of B1G games. The B1G and their media collective have more content than they can fit into their linear outlets. If they add even Oregon/Washington, they will need to slide games over to streaming. That's not the best way to monetize the content. They would gladly welcome some ESPN help. ESPN does not care which conference FSU is in. They enjoy having a monopoly with The ACC/SEC. But if FSU should break away, ESPN would invoke the (presumed) composition clause, and wait for The ACC to bleed-out. They will be sad to see the ACC gravy train disappear. But they will survey the aftermath and make whatever decisions work in their favor.

The schools didn't assign their rights to ESPN, the schools assigned their media rights to the ACC. ESPN can't decide to move a school to a different conference because they have an agreement with their current conference.

If they aren't Sankey, school presidents, or school ADs, there's even less there. However, if we step through the looking glass and assume the SEC does feel that way, it tells us a few things: 1) Miami is not worth enough to keep B1G out of Florida 2) The Virgilina Firewall is not needed, so no package deals to lock down exclusivity in these states 3) Football trumps overall brand value to SEC, if they are only a maybe on UNC. Or maybe they just want us to believe these things.
