Benefiting the receiving conferences (SEC, B1G) and giving conferences (P12, B12) get a concession in upcoming tv negotiations. Saw reputable former tv execs on Twitter talk how this could be a collaborative effort among ESPN and Fox, too.

now. I think the B1G grabs some more PAC schools and than the Big12 will grab some as well. Will be interesting to see if ESPN pushes for some sort of ACC/Big12 "package" as apposed to the ACC/PAC package that had been mentioned some in the past.

No one wants to poach the Big 12 teams. They're all relatively at the same level between the G5 and the middle of the P5. No one school provides more value overall or more net value to any other conference.
It is the individual weakness of each Big 12 team that makes it most likely to be the most stable over the near and medium term.

I could see ESPN wanting to have coast to coast programming options, like the B1G will be able to, without having to pay the PAC (sans USC/UCLA and possibly Oregon/Washington). Granted, this is assuming that the Big 12 gets some combination of Colorado/Utah/Arizona/ASU/whatever as a result of these early negotiations.

schools find the move more appealing than remaining in the Pac Whatever? At least I don't think there's any plans for the P12N to go anywhere even if the conference does enter into a partnership with ESPN. Does the Big XII have any plans to launch the B12N? If so, then how does the projected revenue compare to the ACCN and P12N?

I've long suspected it would be in everyone's best interest if we were out and off to the SEC before 2025. It looks like that may end up being the case.

what the results could be. I'm assuming that if just two more schools decide to leave the PAC that it will result in a mass breakup.
BIG gets USC, UCLA, OR, WA
B12 gets AZ, ASU, UT, CO
Cal and Stanford unsure which direction, but likely B12 in this scenario. B12 and BIG would both have 18 teams.
Wash State and Oregon State get left behind and have to drop to G5.
ACC stays in current configuration with 14 teams until at least 2030 when the next BIG contract expires.
SEC stays with 16 teams until the time that the ACC opens up for poaching.

Cal and Stanford will drop their athletic departments before joining the "Deplorables" of the Big 12. I think the B1G will eventually take them and the Pac will be dead. Sucks for OSU and WSU.

It makes perfect sense for OU and Texas to be in the SEC when ESPN takes over in 2024. It would also be beneficial to have the four corner schools in the Big 12 the same year.

Plus, that way the current Big 12 schools won't have to split texas and Oklahoma's almost certainly substantial buyout/exit fees with the new schools that would have just joined a year prior.

You always bring a lot of passionate fans and will fit in extremely well in the SEC. I have always been amazed at the number of OU fans there are from Ohio. I guess it's the Stoops influence. Best of luck going forward.

I rarely travel for road games, but I do have friends that have enjoyed their trips from OKC to Morgantown. Also, I'd have to assume the number of Ohio-based Sooner fans has something to with "The Kick" :) And best of luck to you all, as well

is largely another Big 12 PR ploy for attention. The only way it becomes more is if Fox and ESPN decide to play. At present, I doubt either network will take the bait in a substantive way for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that they really have no incentive to possibly give leverage to a lower tier conference by creating a bidding war well in advance of the contract ending date.

With either expansion or increasing the number of conference games to nine per year or both. Increasing content should give the ACC a bump.

and working some ways to increase value.
One might be going to 9 games. ESPN might say I give you x if you go to nine games. The same characters who are complaining about rights want to play only 8 games (FSU, Louisville GT and Clemson) due to their ooc conference game with their SEC foes.
You can't get both.......
Also, if rights get bigger than big 12 in negotiations,.. then they might be ways for expansion.

It would allow any Pac-12 schools to compare the revenue numbers if they joined the Big 12 or remained in the Pac-12 without USC and UCLA and any other teams that left for the Big Ten.“
Initiating their media rights deal now makes a lot of sense for the Big 12. That number will be a major factor in what happens in the PAC 12, and could be a source of discontent if their contract pays more than what the ACC schools will be receiving. You have to believe that estimates of the B12 media rights deal will be leaked much like estimates of the B10 leaked months before the conference announcement.

A compromise will be reached between the networks and the Big 12 to keep the conference viable plus let Oklahoma/Texas leave in 2024.
