Your entire premise is wrong, no one is outraged that players are paid

and people are outraged (if that's the term you want to use) about coaches getting paid absurd amounts, but in the end, that doesn't prevent a team from being competitive. They aren't outraged about kids making $75-100k, nor are they outraged about the rare few that make $mils. They are outraged and walking away from the sport not because the players are getting paid, but because there is no structure to how they are being paid and it is allowing a small number of schools to poach any player who has proven himself on the field by offering more money than 95% of the schools can pay. They, I being one, are done with the idea that we go into a season knowing that if we have a great year and things come together, that the coach and best players will be stolen away because coaches contracts are garbage and we can't afford to pay like the small number on top. We're now nothing but minor league feeder programs and we're done giving a crap.
