I think I agree with both of you

The coaching thing has been ludicrous for awhile but only garnered peripheral attention when something completely absurd like Jimbo came along or we consternated about being able to oust Justin. I think some people are simply rooted in the past and outraged that "student athletes" are getting paid now. I'm not one of them, but to some degree I understand. I am, and always will be, firmly in the camp that scholarships are not worthless. Whether or not the student chooses to spend it wisely, is an entirely different discussion. Knowing that most of them will not have a meaningful pro career, if at all, they should. But, kids will be kids. Many non-athlete students would love to have that scholarship and it would be akin to winning the lottery for them, so in my mind the folks that think they're worthless are misguided. I do think the direction we've gone is good. The athletes deserve some skin in the game. The lack of structure is the problem. It's quickly getting out of hand. But, it's the gutless NCAA so not at all surprising.
