Exactly right. Too much is made of this.

No worries, I get where you're coming from with that.
Personally, I want nothing to do with TT. I agree with you, lots of moral lines have been blurred and there's plenty of hypocrisy. But TT seems to have gone head first into the deep end of the win at any cost cesspool and I've lost any degree of respect I had for them. They've pulled off the college athletics version of jumping the shark for me.
Just looking at the B12, there are many other programs I'd rather play. WVU is our obvious rival and always a compelling matchup. But would love to see games on the slate vs. Ok St, Iowa St, K St, ....

Because we think TT is handling it poorly, it’s up to us to beat them on the field to prove some point?
I have opinions on lot of other stuff in the world. I guess I should get busy single handedly solving all of those things too.

The B1G isn’t going to take anyone with poorly ranked academics
They just aren’t. Eyes on the TV or not. Again, I’m not even arguing that it’s the most important factor but in the rubric of decision making it’s clearly there. They’ve pretty much explicitly stated that with their AAU requirement. As you said, this is not a hard concept to understand.
I’m tapping out of this conversation. We can just not agree.

Again, it’s not the most important factor in any of this. But you’re fooling yourself if you say it doesn’t matter at all.

No, but I think the B1G does consider prestige
AAU matters to them. We need to continue to work towards that. Academic performance may not be the end all, but it’s not nothing imo.
Our fan support and athletic potential are strategic advantages. We just need to quit crapping the bed in football.

I’d give much more than $200 for season tickets. I know I’m not alone.
Are we going to pay for stadium renovations entirely with season ticket sales? Of course not. Neither is anyone else. We didn’t for baseball either but softball does at least draw bigger crowds.
What I know for certain is whatever we charge for season tickets is more revenue than the current state. I used my MBA to figure that out.

Agree, Augusta the city is ok at best.
For everyone that claims that Blacksburg is somehow "hard" to get to ... try getting in and out of that place during Masters week.
But man, something magical about stepping out onto that course.

I went to a few practice rounds bough off the secondary market
That was 10 years ago or so. They were a little pricey then but not unobtainable. I haven't checked prices lately as I was lucky enough to come off the waiting list for patron badges. I wouldn't want to have to pay for secondary market tickets on tournament days. $$$$
