Help me out: Why are so many obsessed with uniform colors? Has absolutely
nothing to do with how players compete. Is it just a summer thing to kill time?

Because people are different and have different interests. Would be such a boring world if everyone thought the same.

What the fans want is to see fantastic plays being made by players wearing a jersey bearing the identifying marks of Virginia Tech (or whatever their favorite school is), to hear people on television in that practiced, professional cadence, to say positive things about Virginia Tech. To that end, the uniform is everything for fans. The player is nothing until they put on a uniform with the desired brand. Given the importance of the uniform branding, it's only natural fans care so deeply about the appearance.

People that instantly notice the uniforms with any sporting event I’m watching.
Regarding VT, it’s about looking good, unique and representing our brand. I always felt we are special with our Chicago maroon and burnt orange combo. It reminds me of what I love in the fall. An updated version back to the Vick glory days brings back a lot of wonderful memories for a lot of us.
Cheers!

the youngee's prob like some energy orange.... It does build hype and is an investment so try to leverage in a streamy July. (But) as you mention, being obsessed with winning and being ready to compete is most important for Pry&crew....

On some of the special uniform games, the players seem to come out of the tunnel extra charged. Is this extra energy burned that could have been used for the game? Just my personal opinion. For me, I’m a home / away uniform guy, with no special uniforms (except maybe once a decade). Those uniforms would always be maroon jerseys at home with maroon helmets. On the road white jerseys and maroon helmets. I just think the other stuff are gimmicks. I do wonder if the white helmets are cooler for players, but I still don’t like them.

You want her to be good in bed (that's the play on the field).
And if you get all that, then you also want her to be HOT. And that is the uniforms.

project. In the case of VT, the Hokies want less soft frills/finesse and more hard-edged simplicity that fits a blue collar mentality. Or that’s my take anyway.

visual representation's impact on people. it's a form of marketing. if it was totally insignificant, schools and companies wouldn't invest as much time and energy into it as they do.

all sports. When teams change unis often, for obviously reasons, fans will have more opinions about unis as opposed to a team that never changes their unis, but it can be especially refreshing to fans when your team goes back to something that most fans considered their best unis. I have always disliked the shoulder stripes on VT's football jerseys. I prefer solid color with different color number. And I never have liked the "all-orange" VT uni because too many other schools (including in our conference) wear the all-orange unis, so it just did not look like VT was on the field. No other school has Chicago Maroon/ Burnt Orange combo tmk, so I much prefer that so that everyone watching knows it's VT playing.

Watching Vick run around in all whites was awesome. All maroon Foster defenses sacking all over the field. Even the all black Nike Combat unis capped an awesome tailgating night at FedEx (even though we lost). VT actually has gotten away from the gimmicky uniforms since the Beamer years which was probably due to Fuente. Need more of it. The kids love it.
