We are much better than last year, but so are many other ACC teams.
I'm not looking forward to Clemson game.

That's not exactly a high water mark to measure with.
CMY started out this year by exclaiming he likes this team. Something he didn't say about last years team.
As he would say: "this is on me".

Used to be an assistant here at VT. There are coaches out there and they can be found.
But any name proffered here will be shot full of holes as soon as it is posted.

Better players? Come on. This is the team that went to 2 OT against ND, struggles with its bottom feeding schedule, and got wiped at home by UNC. Yeah, they have good players. But, yeah, they have good coaching too.
NIL $ does not = better coaching. It may = having better players to coach.
Common denominator here is ??????

I agree, the CMY era has more than run its course, but unless much new money is there, a new hire is probably more likely to go backwards then forward.

to hire but cannot, under any circumstances, have Whit a decider of our next coach; and Whit needs to go at the end of the academic year. Yes, we had a good run in the last 8 weeks or so of a season and a run to win the ACC tournament several years ago (when the ACC was really weak) and we should all be grateful for CMY for that; but he is not capable of competing at a high level in a conference that has gotten better with better coaches. We need to trade up on coaches!

2 and he and VT make an earnest commitment to VT MBB that frankly hasn't ever been done in Blacksburg.
Otherwise we are just reshuffling deck chairs to save the Titanic.
