mildly inexperienced/ lightly experienced
we do have a number of players back from last year and even a few from the year prior to last; VT and JF are in a better position in that regard than several programs with a new coaching staff but some (including some on this board) think the experienced players are not very good. we'll see.

Corny (Fuente's OC) was a co-OC before he came here and he
stunk; but, I think Howle will be better; and don't forget he has an offensive analyst to help him who has a very good track record.

I think you learn from your mistakes; these particular players
now know what NOT to do. The phrase is 'failing up'. Also these are very talented players, like Copeland and Hawkins, who can perform at a high level. The coaching staff is better. I think you will see very significant improvement.

interesting statistic on 'experience'
just read that VT's team will have 14 starters back this year which is the most of any team in the league. This should be a major plus in the team's performance this season.

you typically lose a game you expect to win and win a game you expect to lose. I think we lose to Cal or Maryland but beat either Clemson or smu.

VT did fine in the ratings during the prime of the Beamer
years without running up score. the only exception to this rule would be the Hoos and the Tarholes.

"Prep Girls Hoops ranked Robinson as the No. 38 recruit in the class, with scout Miles Orr stating that "[Robinson] is an elite-level shooter with range from the mid-range to well beyond the three-point line.....
Robinson â a four-star recruit on ESPN given a rating of 93 â currently clocks in as the No. 36 recruit in ESPN's rankings, and she is ranked 13th of all players listed as simply a guard or as a point guard. "

problem recruiting edge rushers?
noticed today on 247 that Jayden Broadie, a composite 4-star Edge rusher from North Carolina whom we have been recruiting hard, is now leaning towards South Carolina and may well commit this week. Adding that to the loss of chris whitehead and others at that position it makes one wonder if we currently have a problem recruiting good Edge players. Spencer has always been a very good recruiter of D Line talent. Could the problem be that Pry's failure over the last three years has hurt our ability to recruit Edge rushers or the def. philosophy they are planning?

for a long time I have felt that VT needs to 'go for it!'
tired of seeing other schools grab for the brass ring while VT often seems satisfied with just getting a 'participation' award. If Clemson can win multiple nattys then there is no reason VT can't win one. If TCU can play for a natty then we should be able to do so again. If Cincinnati can get to the football final four VT should be able to do so. "If you want to fly with the eagles, don't swim with the ducks".
