Posting History (420)

You know, it's not so different from a VT Prof having a startup in…

in the VT Corporate Research Center, which has spun-off from his/her research β€” or when they do consulting on the side.

Well, how wast Angela Tincher not on the USA Olympic team, yet…

she no-hits them… Clearly a major SEC and West Coast bias in the sport.

Pretty odd with the Hidlay to NC State mention, saying…

he will "help continue NC State’s dominance in the ACC and nationwide amid Virginia Tech’s rise"β€” NC State is dominating the ACC?? ** Edited by TomA at 5/10/2026, 2:08:51 PM

Actually, looking at local NWS-Blacksburg radar, the heaviest…

rain may miss Blacksburg. There is a very heavy cell tracking NE over Pulaski; even if it hits B'burg, it will be short-lived β€” probably about 45 minutes out

The fallacy with the argument made about his being held back a year…

etc. and that he's 1,9 is that he has been wrestling both older wrestlers and in higher weight classes

Well, a Google search reveals this about insanity…

"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results," is widely attributed to Albert Einstein but is likely a misattribution. It appeared in print in the early 1980s, often linked to 12-step programs or author Rita Mae Brown in 1983, not Einstein"

The corporatization of college athletics will kill sport for…

the vast number of athletes, who have no future except obtaining their degree and moving on with life. Personally, I am in complete favor of dropping athletic scholarships, greatly de-emphasizing all sports except for maintaining inter-collegiate competition at basically the club sport level. If UVA and most other ACC schools and others want to throw money at this monster, good for them… character and values have to matter; we're sending the wrong message to the young people.

I really felt sorry for Clemson's last pitcher, Maddie Johnson…

she was a deer in the headlights last night, on TV β€” really clear on her face β€” she had to have felt awful… probably better for her to have given up a hit instead of 3 walks; not sorry that Clemson lost, of course.
