Couldnât agree more âĻ
âĻ We spent time with his entire family (mom, dad, sister, 2 brothers) throughout nationals (sitting in the section next to VT coincidently). Great people from start to finish.

Donât think soâĻ
See the most recent post from Vincent:
And it was reposted by Pop. Donât think either of those would happen if heâs leaving. But who knows, everyone has a price.
Similar with Trumble. He needs a knee procedure that will keep him out a while to recover. Hard to imagine him switching schools in the middle of that.
The kids that have announced for the portal (Gill, Horne and Younger Orine) werenât going to start next year and are likely looking for more mat time somewhere.

yea ... 8 is most likely ... 141 and 197 are most risky
but Hohman beat the Stanford kid ... so there's a shot ... don't see Knop making it at 197

Speaking of Duals ... looks like they will have a 2025 National Duals tour
$200k for the winning team.
It would be great to have multiple ACC teams involved.

If you look at the commitments around this weight
You guys have 3 top guys: James, Gaj and Nininger
We have 3 as well: Zepeda, Denny and Tucker.
It should be pretty entertaining to see how this all sorts once they all get on campus.

Actually Nininger is at 153 ... #2 seed ...
It could be fun State/Tech-preview finals as our guy, Zepeda, is the #1 seed. Long way to go to get there though.

He did. He'll also report for Basic Training...
... later next year. He hopes to be training with former wrestler, Faison. Trumble will join them when he finishes up his eligibility as well.
Really good kid.

Peterson didn't come out of the concussion protocol ...
... after banging heads with Robinson.
Vince was up big when the injury occurred.

Yep. Both Robinsons (Vincent and Jaydon) are on the team
Vincent is a RS-Fr. Jaydon is a true freshman. Jaydon a couple of good HS matches with Church. You can find those on Flo if you're interested.

Just a correction
Robinson and Camacho didn't wrestle each other this weekend.
Camacho did beat Robinson at the wrestle-offs.
It'll be interesting to see who gets the starting spot this week in duals against App St, Princeton and Rutgers.

The best place to stay is âĻ
Resorts World âĻ hands down
3 great hotels (Hilton, Conrad, and Crockfords) and itâs connected to the Convention via The Loop (Elon Muskâs Tesla tunnels).
Extemely convenient and a great casino, with equally great restaurants.
We stay here every year when we get to the CK.

I doubt it.
Vincent Robinson and Orine were both Top 100 guys. The initial starter should get settled at the wrestle-offs this weekend.

If I were to guess today
125: Camacho Decision 3-0
133: Va Tech Decision 3-3
141: Orine Decision 6-3
149: Henson Decision 6-6 (could be bonus. Koy is really good, but Arrington out muscled him at the US Open over the summer)
157: Ed decision 9-6
165: Probably the toughest to guess. But, I'll go with the most recent result. VT by decision. 9-9
174: This is the match I'm most looking forward to. I'll go with a homer pick, Matty. 12-9.
184: TJ had Dylan's number last year. 12-12
197: VT 12-15
285: Trumble has gotten and has been really impressive. 15-15
So as usual, it'll come down to bonus points with VT having the edge because of 149.

Well since you asked ...
What is NC State's projected lineup?
125 - Camacho
133 - Either Vincent Robinson or the younger Orine
141 - Older Orine
149 - Busguens
157 - Scott
165 - Fields
174 - Singleton
184 - Fishback
197 - Knop. The option is Chase Horne. He's dropped a ton of weight since coming in as a HWT. This will probably be the most interesting match to watch at our wrestle-offs this weekend.
HWT - Trumble
Assuming the above, I think our dual will (again) be the highlight of the conference season.

2023-24 Attendance #s
Not surprisingly, VaTech and State lead the ACC.
Somewhat surprising: the lack of attendance at the other schools:
#6 State 4340
#14 Va Tech 2254
#21 Pitt 1419
#23 UVa 1254
#41 Smurfs 591
#58 Duke 297
Note: This data is for dual meet events only, not tournaments hosted by schools. In all, 63 schools reported figures for 2023-24, with 12 (Binghamton, Brown, Columbia, Davidson, George Mason, Harvard, Morgan State, Ohio, Sacred Heart, SIUE, Stanford and The Citadel) not ticketing or tracking home attendance for wrestling

FRL spent a lot of time on this today ...
Net: DT turned it down. Looks like it'll likely by Coleman after all.

He gave up wrestling completely...
... Hayden tried to get him to xfer out to NDSU ... but apparently, he's done with wrestling completely.

Nice analysis ...
"All that being said, I think it's awesome to have two really solid programs in the ACC,"
This couldn't be more true. ACC wrestling (and both programs) need the other to stay nationally relevant. Even with Stanford coming in next year, the rest of the ACC aren't all impactful. If either State and/or Tech fall back, it could be the demise of the sport in the league.
BTW, I had a chance to meet Henson's grandfather at the tourney. Really nice guy.

At large bids actually come out on Tues ...
"After all the conference tournaments have concluded, the NCAA Division I Wrestling Committee will meet in-person to select the remaining 47 at-large qualifiers, which will be announced on March 12, while brackets and seeding will be announced on NCAA.com at 8 p.m. on March 13. All weight classes will consist of 33 wrestlers."
