Posting History (363)

You can call it dumb, but you’re not getting paid north of 300k to coach

while being quite successful at it. ** Edited by RVAHokie05 at 3/8/2026, 12:45:31 PM

The coaches are aggressive with sending runners. Always have been.

We never see these posts after a run is scored and the aggressive base running is successful.

Oh ok. Glad you were there.

Kokong!! ** Edited by RVAHokie05 at 3/8/2026, 9:56:10 AM

And? **** happens. It’ll be okay.

Also, you’d think the team was 2-20 just based on your posts. ** Edited by RVAHokie05 at 3/7/2026, 9:53:49 PM

β€œAsleep as usual”? Seriously? β€œPossible injury”?

So you're a coach and doctor now? Ridiculous. I’ll never understand why some people love to assume injuries. Sometimes players have off days. It’s okay.

There’s a lot of talent competing for spots.

There are only 9 defensive positions and a DP. Most players want to start and will transfer where they can. Not much Coach can do if he thinks another player could be better-equipped to help the team win. Happens every year. ** Edited by RVAHokie05 at 3/7/2026, 7:25:31 PM

Glad they had a game where they needed to tough out a win

Good experience for rest of the season and post-season. Proud of how they figured out a way to win! ** Edited by RVAHokie05 at 3/7/2026, 6:57:47 PM

Of course it's Mississippi.

Where Football is priority number 1 while boasting 50th place in state Healthcare rankings.

I hope her injury is minimal and she comes back soon

Don’t be surprised, however, when Tenn. is given every benefit of the doubt by pollsters for all games lost during her time away.

Coach Pete is putting the team in the best position to win.

Giving innings to three pitchers (Carrico/Layton/Fisher) who hopefully have another 3 years with the team is not "disrespectful" at all. What practical purpose would it serve to give a senior - who likely won't crack the regular rotation - these innings? Coaches are still figuring out what the three new arms bring to the table, and they need all the reps they can get. Cassie is a great Hokie who has had some great games in the circle. ** Edited by RVAHokie05 at 3/3/2026, 9:57:03 AM

Our SOS will take a huge hit if our aim is to host more OOC games

Most of the quality teams are located in warmer locales so we're forced to go south or west. Even if a quality, warm weather team is open to going on the road, they will not risk going to Blacksburg with good reason. They'll go somewhere like South Carolina where the weather is more likely to at least be in the 50s. For example, in 2005 (my senior year), it snowed on May 5th. It's a gamble for sure. I like how we're hosting a tournament in Salem that includes quality northern schools. If we can continue to get decent teams like Michigan and PSU, then that's a good way to boost RPI. Tech could fulfill a need in the market by hosting quality northern schools. We'll all get quality competition without having to travel to the Deep South or the west coast. ** Edited by RVAHokie05 at 3/2/2026, 3:27:09 PM

Tech beat Northwestern during the Tincher days

despite 0 hits for the Hokies. However that was a 1-0 game. 5 runs on 0 hits is crazy.

The graphic and the ACC standings are wrong

It’s likely no one updates the ACC site over the wknd.

Perhaps they knew each other?

I’m not seeing the issue here, unless he was saying inappropriate things (which there’s no proof of). Banned? Seriously? For what?

Oh for sure. I think they are a good team as well.

I just found it strange that they specifically mentioned Ohio State as proof of their prowess. ** Edited by RVAHokie05 at 2/27/2026, 2:58:00 PM

What I think is funny is UVA considers the Ohio State wins to be noteworthy

OSU is 6-7 with losses to Florida Atlantic & Delaware, and a nine-run, 5-inning loss to Indiana. πŸ˜† ** Edited by RVAHokie05 at 2/27/2026, 9:40:06 AM

I don't get why Duke went to BOTH premier tournaments.

I also feel like the Tech Softball program has proven itself to be a consistent-enough winner that it should get to participate in these tournaments more often. I'm not saying every year, but it has been quite a while since going to Clearwater. I'm not sure they've ever been to Mary Nutter.

Obviously the D1 Softball writer didn’t realize UGA played wrong pitchers

Otherwise they’d see the win wasn’t impressive at all! πŸ™„ TICx10000 I thought it was a great win and I’m happy for the team! 😊 ** Edited by RVAHokie05 at 2/22/2026, 10:38:11 AM

Yeah some people seem to relish coming out of the woodwork

To bash the team after losses. They’re no where to be found after wins or even general discussion. I get annoyed with hokiepro’s negative in-game comments at times, but at least he’s a consistent poster who takes joy in wins as well.

I'm quite confident that didn't happen at all.

EDIT: also, that's not even how softball works. Just because she pitched 4 innings today doesn't mean she can't pitch tomorrow and/or Sunday. Do you remember how many games Keely Rochard would start in a three-game series spread out over three days? The answer is 3. ** Edited by RVAHokie05 at 2/13/2026, 3:02:54 PM ** Edited by RVAHokie05 at 2/13/2026, 3:04:03 PM

Unless this is sarcasm, whoever posted the tweet and said

"the Big Ten is clearly wanting to provide a seat at the table for everyone, not a Super League conf." is a naive fool. Altruism is no where to be found within the P2.

And surprisingly it was Sophie who gave up the HR

I don't say that to pick on her at all. She's more of a "down" pitcher so it makes sense that she'd be hard to get HRs off of. She gave up just 1 in 71 innings last year. ** Edited by RVAHokie05 at 2/9/2026, 10:55:23 AM

The only thing I’ll disagree with

Is that ND is in the upper Midwest. Haha Everything else, 100% agree!

Chip mentioned that softball doesn’t have traditional redshirting

Unless (like you mentioned) she was hurt and she can request a medical redshirt. So yes, I think you’re right. She has three years of eligibility including this year.
