Was there no other position Pete could of put Leggette at to keep her in
Blacksburg? She has been absolute animal at the plate this year. After seeing below that she walked off UVa earlier I switched over to there second game and she smoked another one to make it 8 to 3 UNC.

There are only 9 defensive positions and a DP. Most players want to start and will transfer where they can. Not much Coach can do if he thinks another player could be better-equipped to help the team win.
Happens every year.

the outfield was wide open. Before we got players like Bre Warren and Addison Foster, I put the following players in the mix for the outfield Blackwell, Legette, Abromavage, Charlotte Moore. Who would have thought Blackwell would have become essentially a limited factor as a field player so far. Charlotte Moore is not getting time.
Abromavage it one of the main stable player playing every day as an outfielder. Addison Foster transitioning from being an infield to the outfield to get her in the lineup is big. We also rotate Mizelle through the OF as well as occasionally Aldridge to get their bats in the lineup when Coach D'Amour also wants to get Castine and Mazzarone playing time.
So my point is that going into the off season, Abromavage is the main OF player currently playing that you might have thought would get real time. So there was opportunity for Legette.
But I don't know if she didn't want to or what happened in the off-season discussions leading to her transfer. Last year, Blackwell gave way to Trinity Martin as a start because Martin started producing. It would have been interesting to see if Legetter had gotten more looks there, but it is hard as a pinchhitter to gain traction.
