Replace those games with the first round of a 24 team playoff, and those home games on campus will be a lot more fun to watch.

The BIG proposal is overall simple and logical. They just took the top 24 teams according to the playoff ranking, and did the brackets based on seeding (same as NCAA tournament, e.g., lowest ranked vs highest ranked). Nothing is particularly unique about it other than being more teams and having 8 teams with a bye. Everything they have listed has appeared in at least one of the “what if” options posted on this board over the past two years. In fact it is so simple that I think we moved past this kind of basic model a very long time ago.

Over time, I don't think a "super league" would draw enough viewership to sustain the lucrative TV deals the P2 teams need to sustain the crazy amounts of money being spent on football and basketball, so I think they need to present a system that doesn't completely alienate 75% of college football fans. I'm sure the spots for non-P2 teams will be minimal, and the deck will forever be stacked against non-P2 teams, but the P2 will be able to claim they have not excluded anyone.

Last year this time the P2 worked together with ESPN and Fox’s support to get majority control of the playoff. IMHO now the B1G has realized Sankey wants the P1 with him or one of his guys to eventually run it. The 24 playoff proposal by the B1G IMHO is to counter that. Keep an eye on how many P2 like USC-w and Michigan start saying they don’t want to sign GOR extensions. Each school that plays in the P1, if it happens, could get their own regular season TV deal like ND. Then you also get the playoff money like ND gets. More money more money more money!!! Or they could work together to get an NFL level deal, either way, it’s about more 💵💵💵💵 If a P1 happens, expect ~32 teams like Saban keeps saying, by the way, ever wonder why ESPN keeps saying Saban should run all of this?
