It’s extremely similar to what I posted back in the fall

The BIG proposal is overall simple and logical. They just took the top 24 teams according to the playoff ranking, and did the brackets based on seeding (same as NCAA tournament, e.g., lowest ranked vs highest ranked). Nothing is particularly unique about it other than being more teams and having 8 teams with a bye. Everything they have listed has appeared in at least one of the “what if” options posted on this board over the past two years. In fact it is so simple that I think we moved past this kind of basic model a very long time ago.

I'd favor going to 24 if they included every conference champion.**

No reason to expand beyond 16 teams if every conference doesn't get a seat

24 is way too many.**

16 is before 24, why not just start there. Auto bids before season starts

I think the P2 have to present the "illusion of inclusion"...
MP4VT2004 02/14/26 09:39 AM ET
I think Sankey/ESPN wants the P1 and Petitti/Fox doesn’t. Fox does wants to
Stech 02/14/26 12:05 PM ET
I do think the B1G doesn’t want the P1, with this proposal, Sankey wants it

IMO this will trigger more conference expansion **

Why do you believe that?**
