probably didn't see him coach much. If you didn't see the change he made in NW when he took over and just look at his record, you probably won;t get the appeal. NW was a bottom feeder. He brought them toughness and discipline. He was a tough linebacker when he played and his teams reflected his mentality.

He took over when Randy Walker suddenly passed. Fitzgerald was 31 at the time. I hope we at least have a discussion with him.

FSU was not at all happy with him his last year there. There were rumors he would get fired. Texas A&M bailed them out. They expectations were Natty or bust and he didn't get it done. They were willing to pay him 76 million to not coach there. That scares me. College football is very different now that it was just 5 years ago. I don't know that he has proven he can win in today's portal heavy environment.

Other than being a big name in football and success a couple of decades ago, what gives you confidence that he would make a good college coach. Recruiting is insane. Now you have to recruit high school, recruit your own team to keep them out of the portal and recruit the portal to keep up. And those emails would be used against him by every coach he went up against on the trail.

Not that I think that it is a remote possibility or should be a consideration as I am in the camp of a full reset, but is the improbable happened and we became competitive, how many wins make Montgomery a contender, a favorite? does 7-2 get him an interview? 6-3?

Listen to people who have success in the game, particularly if accusations haven't been proven or get stuck with another Pry,

I think he will be more aggressive making decisions as a result. He doesn't have "allegiance" to Drones like Pry had. Who is getting what in NIL won't matter to him as he won't see any of these guys next year unless they follow him. 4-5 wins (I know, very unlikely) might get him a G5 HC spot.

He has to do what he can with Bowen's players. Can't really show what he can do as a coach. The flip side is that it isn't going to change drastically. Maybe more tempo or some schematic freedom he didn't have with Pry, but we are who we are with this roster unless one of the backup QBs just click in his system. Like someone said above though, It doesn't really matter. The only thing of importance is what happens with AD and HC. This is not a job interview for Montgomery. If a change is deemed necessary by the new AD then I would focus on (Group 1 is most likely not an option for us): 1. Mullen- If his vision is in line with the new AD, this would be the Grand Slam. Hiring a Football focused AD is paramount and this hire must align with his goals. Mullen can't be forced on him. Also this may be a guy we could be in a bidding war for and obviously we lose that against SEC or b1g. 2a. Is there set criteria used for the at large bids (ranking, record)? Is it more subjective or objective? Who makes the decision and what are TJ's chances?

I understand dual meet scoring, but how are team scores computed? Are the points the same for the Quarters, semis and finals? How do consolation matches affect the team score?

New coaching staff, young stars, tons of cap room. He is a great spot right now. No chance he leaves that to come here in our current situation.

Yes conference champs get into the playoffs but there shouldn't be guaranteed seeding. Boise and Arizona State should not have had byes over Texas and ND. That would have given us better 1st round matchups.

Vick played for Andy Reid and holds him in highest regard. I wonder if Vick has the type of relationship that he can call up Andy for Advice. Certainly I think Frank would answer him. If, and that is a big if, MV does end up here in the future it would be fascinating to see who he would pull for his staff.

It is going to be painful if we have the same staff next year.

If you notice the Sling TV commercial with Desmond Howard, when they complain about no games they are interested in, the TV was showing a UVA home game. Even commercials know UVA football is boring!
