Anthony Poindexter
@Chris Coleman do you think Anthony Poindexter from Penn State is a serious contender for the defensive coordinator position and Pry has to wait until their playoff run ends accordingly?

Not an expert, but gut feeling says it is Dex.
Connections are there. Can coach Pry's desired Defense and take over the Safeties. Can make a difference in state recruiting. Also, explains why no announcement yet. Pry respecting Franklin's wish to wait until their run is over.

My gut feeling thinks Dex as well

He has to get a VT logo tattoo on his bicep before he is considered!
The guy is a UVA legend. He would use this DC position as a springboard to get back to UVA. He would also be able to improve recruiting relationships throughout VA. When he makes the jump to UVA in a couple years, he can bring the defensive players with him to UVA. Can we trust him to make the right defensive call when UVA has the ball on the Tech five yard line down four points with thirty seconds left in the game? I say NO! He bleeds orange and blue. Tattoos can be removed so I'm not sure if the bicep tattoo would be enough.

The idea that ...
The idea that he couldn't be trusted to make the right call in a football game, to allow his alma mater to have a chance at winning is absurd. Absolutely absurd and, frankly, would most likely cost him any chance at a job with UVA (or any school, down the road). That is the difference between professionals and fans. Professionals will keep it professional, regardless of the opponent. Would he be happy for UVA winning games, of course. I assume Fontel is happy when UVA wins (unless it is vs. VT), but Fontel isn't telling his WRs to play soft vs UVA. He wants that win just as much as they do.

Dex has a serious conflict of interest!
When did football coaches become professionals? Was Galen Scott a professional? There have been plenty of coaching scandals over the years so don't be naive. Most of the receivers under Mines have regressed so I'm not confident in his coaching ability. Will a UVA alumnus and Hall-of-Famer advocate for Tech or UVA when sitting down with potential recruits and their families? Dex is a UVA alumnus and Hall-of-Famer so he has divided loyalties.

So, when he recruits for PSU is advocating for UVA, too?
Loyalty is great, but he likes getting paid. And, at the end of the day, he'll hope the best for UVA, but he isn't going to sacrifice his job for his school.

He's definitely earned his reputation
Alot of pieces would set stage 2 of staff readjustments. Poindexter is also mean safety coach . I that would Preleau would be reassigned and then they can work on Linebacker. (Prehaps, quinn evolves into Gunter's position but lead the entire group for high school relations and associate line backer coach with a new one.
