A Huge Thank You
To Coach Dresser. Without him, we have NONE of this. Yes, Robie has been unbelievably instrumental in building the program. Anytime I talk to Coach Dresser, I always thank him for saving the program and I end our talk with a “Go Hokies”.

Completely agree!
If UVA cared about Wrestling, Garland would have been gone three years ago. What UVA likes about Steve is….. uber-religious, will never ask for a raise, is a very nice man, and team GPA will always be great. He is a man of extremely high morals, and never has had any negative PR in his career at UVA.

This Rhetoric is Exhausting
I am so tired of reading all of the excuses by some of our fans in all sports. I played two sports at Tech years ago and my father is a VHSL HOF coach so I have been around athletics since birth. Yesterday, the ump’s strike zone was very tight both ways, we didn’t lose because of ball/strike calls. We lost because of 4BB, 2 passed balls, and an error in the first two innings. Sometimes, you just have to admit the other team was better than you on that day. Based on the way the game was played yesterday, FSU was the better team. I am just so tired of all the excuses by some members of our fanbase.

Manning is a decent person
I had the pleasure of spending time with Coach Manning years ago when he was recruiting a kid we coached here in Virginia. He always seemed like a pretty good person and was very transparent. You have to be a bit of a salesman to succeed in college wrestling these days. I love Coach Dresser, but he could sell ice to an Eskimo, lol.

My only concern with him being back in the room is how this affects the team chemistry. However, I trust Robie 100 percent to make the right decision.

Coach Robie says Hello!
Despite being a wrestling alum, I believe that softball has the best chance of winning a national title sooner than later. However, I think the wrestling program may have better “numbers” the last 6 years. I am a huge softball fan and have these girls in the same “rooting interests” as football and wrestling. Coach Pete has done an incredible job and hopefully he continues to stay in Blacksburg. Would love to see this team make the WCWS! Go Hokies!

Josh was an AA.
Josh was my suite mate and teammate in the early 90s. Unknown to most, Josh was the head coach at Great Bridge for one year. Josh is a fabulous human being! Based on our development of upper weights, Nick going to tOSU was probably a good decision for him.

And donate to the SERTC which supports our wrestling program. There are only 10 weight classes in college wrestling and we could have 4 national champions next year. We have signed the greatest high school wrestler ever. Rather than take a shot at the program, get on board. The program is about two wrestlers away from legitimately competing for a national title. I am so proud to be a wrestling alum. Coach Robie and his staff are doing an incredible job.

Coach Cheynet was our coach. Coach Dresser was our Grad Assistant and he enjoyed beating the crap out of me everyday as we were around the same weight. Coach Dresser is a good man and recruited a few of our wrestlers during his time as the head coach at Tech. I still keep in touch with him.

These types of tournaments…….
Are productive in two ways, getting guys quality matches and improving our guys pedigrees for seeding purposes in March. I wrestled at Tech in the early 90s and in the middle of my 29th year of coaching high school wrestling in Virginia. In the last three weeks, we have had multiple entries at a lot of weights. The experience for our B team kids is invaluable.

What is your problem with Kevin?
Coach Dresser was my grad assistant back in the early 90s and recruited a few kids where I coached at from 09-19. Coach Dresser is a great man, with a wry sense of humor, and does not sugar coat anything. I texted him today to congratulate him on the big win.

From an extremely well connected source, I have been told that Stoops (UK) was in town last week and Franklin has been in town this week. Does not mean either will be our next head coach, but obvious both have interest.
