A few years ago, my son and I visited HPU as he was considering colleges...

and I had the same impression on HPU...it was like a resort. But I was turned off and so was my son. It felt like a cult. We toured an academic building during an 8 am class and all the students were dressed nicely (girls in dresses, boys in khakis and polos). My son thought that was really wierd. And so did I. It was wondering when the Kool Aid was going to be distributed. He chose VT....and boy am I glad.

That's what I don't get....

I saw the video last night and at the end the person taking the video showed the rope laying on the platform deck as they all began to realize it wasnt attached. You are right...it was just a rope. Wouldnt that have created some sort of hangman snap? How as she supposed to survive that....let alone not even having it attached.

A will is just instructions to the court on how you wish your assets...

to be distributed via the probate process. The court usually goes along with your will but is not bound to it. A trust takes court/probate out of the process and the trust beneficiaries then control any assets in the trust. I recently set one up for my assets. I had a family member pass recently and was very thankful that they too had a trust. Made life a lot...and I mean a lot....easier after their passing.

Agree...this is not on the NCAA. This is an injunction, not a final ruling.

Just allows him to play while the NCAA and legal process plays out. Meanwhile, he will play for TT, collect his revenue share and NIL and by time the NCAA process plays out, he will be off to try the NFL. He is gaming the system....he knows he should be ineligible.

Son did the Boulder Skyline Traverse over Memorial Day weekend....

he sent pictures that were so beautiful. Just a warmup to some 14'ers this summer.

I keep wondering if collective bargaining will really help....

the NFL has it and that helps with salaries (i.e. revenue share) but that doesn't cover endorsements (NIL) by NFL players. NIL will just continue to be the big differentiator in college athletics.

That must be rough.....

UVA is an excellent school, so good for him (and you). But breathing that conceited air in Charlottesville must be hard.

Well, yes.....but their timing was affected by when the President...

issued an executive order on the issue. While the EO by itself has little enforceability, it certainly has an influence on getting the NCAA to take action. Unfortunate timing.

I purposely went to The Walk on Saturday.....

to see if we look noticeably bigger now. We definitely are....and it is very noticeable.

Agree....I bet he told the Board of Visitors that he was....

"assessing his future", which basically states that he is retiring/leaving and it then triggers the BoV to begin the search process. That gives them runway before he actually gives them a resignation letter. Didn't the BoV meet this week? This is all coordinated stuff. Just like the Board of Directors and executive leadership of major corporations. These things are almost always coordinated.

Very much agree....in October, I thought we were going to have....

a top 25 season and be in the top 5 or so of the ACC. Those were my expectations and I think maybe many others as well. Quite the fall since then. Maybe I was too optimistic but when you look at the talent we had (Neo is very talented, just did not convert well at VT) and the fact that CMY publicly said this was his most talented team ever, I think my expectations were justified. So I think the current situation does fall a lot on CMY...he assembled (paid for) a good team and it underperformed. Yes, injuries played a significant role...but I think there was more too it than that. Appears he is now in the penalty box by donors as a result....

The ACC sends its regards

Just kidding, nobody cares about the ACC anymore. But still, LOL Duke.

Good point....and one that I did not think of. You then get into....

employment law. Which varies by state. You would likely have to give them a warning, place them on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) with defined metrics or expectations. And then give them time to work on that PIP. Could be a relatively long process.

He is keeping all available options open...

can try to go to NBA, can go to another school, or maybe even come back to VT....not saying they are all legit options but you never close a door unless you have to.

I keep wondering when an athlete will sue....

and say "Why do I have to go to school...why can't I just play on their team?" Maybe after if/when there is collective bargaining and they are classified as employees of the school...then the athlete can say "Well I am an employee of the school, so I am already tied to the school, why do I have to go to class?"

Prison is almost not enough....regardless of female or male....

she likely could find a guy her age...but it is not about that for pedophiles. And that is exactly what she is.
