Melvin Miller joining early rumor?
Going the Jax Forrest route and coming to VT second semester of next year is the rumor. Anybody hearing this? There are lineup combos that would make it work

Allows for more continuity down the road. Also asking a kid to come in second semester, acclimate to college life and leap right into a jump in competition is a lot to ask.
The best case scenario is appealing, but I say just let it happen when it happens.

Especially with high schoolers able to beat d-1 kids in open tournies and it’s a sport with weight classes so physicality and maturity isn’t as much of an issue as in football.

I don't love the idea of only getting 3 and a half years out of one of our best recruits of all time, but it would give us a killer lineup.

IMHO Bo and a few other high recruits are wrestling too much. I am actually amazed at just how many high level events they participate in. Wrestling is hard on the body and there is only so much it can take before someone physically or mentally breaks down. The risk of injury is a factor too. I just wonder if some of these guys are peaking too early. I realize some are just built different....but yikes.

how much mat time are they really getting? The events don't really bother me because it doesn't do much to go out tech 4 kids in a minute and maybe have a match in the championship.
What concerns me is how much training they're doing. I remember Nolf did an interview and said he trained about 3X more in HS than in college. Hope he's not overtraining.

Clarion Open in November. Melvin would be a favorite to AA this season. Also, early enrollment means Melvin and Bo can wrestle together in college for four years.
That scenario would give Robie and team a beautiful headache trying to manage the roster, but you pull the trigger if Melvin can complete enrollment requirements early and wants to wrestle.
PJ Duke will eventually become the 157 #1 / NCAA favorite this season. He likely redshirts next season and Kasak uses his final season of eligibility. Scarily, a 5th year senior in Kasak might be an easier path to the NCAA championship than a true soph Duke.
Has Jax confirmed he will wrestle this season or move to Stillwater in order to train at their RTC earlier in preparation for '26/'27?

I imagine it's the second. Melvin will also grow I think he's only 18 and looks like he could fill out 165 eventually. If that's the case it's best to avoid MM for as long as possible.

enrollment would put him back at his original class. Bo and Jax are old for their class too. Both will be 20 before next season starts. As a comparison, I turned 18 at the beginning of my freshman year at VT and graduated at 21.
