Thought softball rules--if rain delay after 4 innings game should be over.

It will be if they can’t continue or finish before any predetermined curfew
Don’t know if that’s in play here. But should it get rained out it’d be officially 11-9 Hokies in a 5 inning game

Don't Liberty students have like a 7PM curfew?
DGHOKIE DGHOKIE
No, they can't dance after 7 PM

That doesn't make sense. What if VT behind 0-1, then Peck hits 2-run HR to
give us 2-1 lead at bottom of 6th. The score would go back to 0-1 and Liberty would win the game? Playing devil's advocate.

HokieJack
No. The game would end 2 - 1 for VT.
Liberty already had their turn at bat in the 6th. VT gets their 6th inning if needed. After the HR, the entire inning is not needed.

What does 2-1 mean?

Listen to HokieJack he’s got it right; tonight’s game will be 11-9 final
If it’s called as is

Look at the hypothetical post above from carhokies.
I answered his hypothetical question.
hokiepro hokiepro
It reverts to previously completed full inning so
If LU was ahead 1-0 after the 5th and peck hit that HR it’d count basically like a walkoff

Not sure what in the world I was thinking before
Of course that didn’t make sense, I was overthinking the reverting to the previous inning. So those scenarios are apples and oranges. It matters if the home team already led or not after the top of the completed inning

Yes

That's not right, not fair play, rule should change if bottom
of inning coz visiting team was allowed full 3 innings. That is messed up right there, not fair play for both teams.

If Tech was losing, they would be trying to play
It’s VT’s event management running this now. Also both teams have to agree. So say the score is 2-1 now with Bre’s HR, we aren’t suggesting let’s call this, we’re waiting this out.
H
hokietony
Actually, I'm not sure, since VT scored in the bottom of the inning.

We’ll have to finish the 6th for those runs to count

Wrong. See my post above.

Believe it should move out of the area shortly.
