Doesn't look like they XII is ready to make an ACC-type deal for ND.
Or at least Yormark mark isn't kissing his ass. This is what everyone needs to be doing.

I don't think is/was in the cards. ND is just being ND.

ITs tough being an independent
Conferences rule more and more, and more limited opportuinitiies for independents. As more and more conferences go to 9 or 10 games, what is the encourgement of playing an independent. Also if you have your state rival who is not in your conference that limits your open games. There will be plenty of openings for great match ups with Memphis SOuth Florida, James madison.

That's the first time I've seen/heard Yormack speak.
He speaks with confidence, conviction, and transparency (at least in the clip I watched), like a good leader should.

Good for Yormark. Play that on a continuous loop.
If only the ACC had leadership with a little creativity and balls.

That pretty much kills the ND to B12 sentiment that some said might happen

Nobody in their right mind would entertain ND 2 B12. Never happening.
If you leave out Texas, Oklahoma, TAMU (all of which are now SEC teams, and they only played TAMU once in 2001) and WVU (who was in the Big East when they played,) Notre Dame has only played two Big 12 teams in the past 25 years - Iowa State (19-20 Camping World Bowl) and Oklahoma State (21-22 Fiesta Bowl.) And, those were both bowl games, meaning Notre Dame didn't really have a say who they were playing. Notre Dame clearly has and had no interest in playing any Big 12 team that isn't Texas or Oklahoma.

I have read unsubstantiated reports that there
are discussions with the higher ups that they are considering offering ND a full payout for a similar arrangement that the ACC has. The ide being that it would improve the upcoming media deal negotiations, and position the B12 as the clear 3rd best conference. The full payout is in the neighborhood of $40M++ Personally, I don't see it, but lets face it, tradition has already been thrown out the window.

ND would never go for that, because elitist attitudes, etc.
Media rights money clearly doesn't mean much to ND in the overall scheme. At the end of the day, the people that run ND, and the people that hold sway over those that do, see ND as an amalgam of The Vatican, Harvard, and Ohio State. They think they're too good to stoop to playing Kansas State and Central Florida.

Maybe, but they could easily schedule TCU, BYU, Utah, Colorado,
Arizona, ASU, Baylor?, and ?. What if they allowed ND to chose who they play every 2 years in a 1-1? That is what I would do. Again, I agree with you that ND wouldn't stoop to the truck stop conference, but we saw what happened to the PAC when they took the same stand.

That would be crazy to agree to, IMO.

Unless either Fox or ESPN are the ones pushing it. My take
is we just got rid of Texas, and I personally like the truck stop conference. What we need more than ND, is a lunch pail team. JMHO

LOL. that will never happen and Yormark knows it. If there is 1% chance,
Yormark wouldn’t have said that.

LOL if that is what you want, you don't say their actions were egregious.
He knows there is no chance that ND would come if invited.

FSU was the one that got screwed when they were undefeated. BYU
laid an egg in the championship game. Had they won that, the B12 gets 2 in. maybe e a close of overtime game would have gotten them in - but they had their chance. ND lost to Miami. It's not the first time they lost head to head with the school that got the playoff birth. ND's only loss that year was to Cincy. Too bad, so sad. ND doesn't have a playoff game - works for you sometimes, and works against you sometimes. So ND and BYU are the first two out. Would have been a decent game, too bad we won't see it. The ACC however, needs ND's games IMHO.

I agree because FSU was undefeated.
The committee made assumptions about how FSU would do without giving them the chance. That's wrong IMO.

It’s only wrong because they don’t apply the same theory to Ole Piss
